I recently purchased this monitor and now I’m trying to return it, here is why: 1) No aux out - Your only option for external speaker connection is Bluetooth. The problem is every time you turn the monitor off the connection will be lost and when you turn on, you will need to hit “OK” to confirm to reconnect to the speaker. 2) The Monitor lacks standby mode when connected to a PC (or Mac) using USB-C. The monitor will NOT automatically turn on (or wake up) when you move the mouse or tap on the keyboard to wake up the computer. The only way to “wake up” the monitor is to manually turn it on via the remote or joystick button in the back. The same goes for sleep, monitor will NOT be in standby mode, it will show “No signal” screen (like a TV) and you will have to turn the screen off manually. 3) It won’t auto-switch to USC-C input when your PC is waking up from sleep and you are using smart apps or other inputs. You will have to manually switch to USB-C input via remote. Think of this product as a TV in a monitor form factor. It’s a shame LG didn’t bother to do minimum work to make this work well as a monitor as it lacks the most basic monitor functionalities.

@@Derposadita Yes I have returned it to LG (I bought from LG website, wasn’t a good experience, involved multiple calls, emails and live chats, took about a month to get approved for return/refund). I went back to my Dell U3223QE with FireTV connected to a HDMI port, not a perfect setup, but better experience than this “smart” monitor.

​@@LeeLechnerI have the previous model by Samsung called M7 32". I love it because I use it as my bedroom tv and it's 4k as well. There are no actual 32 inch tvs with 4k resolution. Which is the main reason I bought it.

We used mostly our monitors for gaming and Video Editing The only way I would buy a smart monitor to be honest is, if I lived in a very, very small apartment or room, if I had no access for TV.

Yes the camera is detected by my macbook and used by Zoom, Facetime etc. Comes up as LG Smart Cam, not bad quality. You need to use a USB C 3.2 cable.

Thanks for your honest feedback! Do you ever have any quirks with the monitor when the Mac wakes up from sleeping? For example, do you have to reselect the input, or can you quickly get back to whatever you are working on before the Mac goes to sleep? I’ve read about this issue from others, but I'm hoping that it's been addressed with a software update. Thanks for your time!

Have you used LG Smart Cam on that monitor? I have one and for a life of me I couldn't figure out how to use it. No app is pre-installed for this cam since no camera app in my Home Hub. LG support website is useless. :/

I have an older 32 inch Samsung M7 and it has 2 HDMI, one of which is ARC. This LG does not have ARC which makes using a soundbar an issue.

I have just ordered one from LG. Not that I was really interested in the smart tech, but really wanted a monitor with the web cam , due to having had to do many zoom meetings, and of course ips and 4 k , for when I start trying to do some video editing. I had been thinking of the Samsung M8 smart monitor but it is a VA panel not IPS. The other one I looked at was a Philips monitor which was IPS and a webcam but not a smart monitor, but this is a monitor which I have seen only on Amazon , or special order at local computer store.

You need to connect your PC/laptop to the monitor USB Type-C. It is something LG really should have included in the box. I had the same issue when I tried to only connect via HDMI. Also, be sure to double-check that the camera is correctly connected. Even though it's magnetic, I noticed it was slightly out of place the first time I installed it.

such a question, I want to get a 4k monitor, a 3070ti video card, I’m worried that not all games will work properly in 4k. If in games you set 2k resolution with a 4k monitor, the picture will become terrible or + - like a regular 2k monitor (it’s clear that it will be worse, but by how much)

It will depend on what type of games you plan to play and what size monitor you get. If you're planning on 27", you probably won't notice much of a difference. If you plan on a bigger screen size, you'll see more differences when looking at objects/parts of the map that are further away. A good example is when I play battle royale maps (such as Warzone), I can see more clearly when aiming down at opponents who are further away.

I've had the monitor for a few weeks, and so far, I've not really had any issues with light bleed or IPS glow with this monitor. It looks pretty solid at 100 brightness when I use it at night.

Yup! I have a Macbook Pro M1 and it charges / displays when I plug in using the USB-C port, so you shouldn't have any issues with your Macbook Air

I got this monitor for my birthday "32SR50F" I'm a bit of a tech nerd so I had to get all the specs, Obviously Well its a IPS panel HDR (32/80cm) but 60hz and 8ms response time and I'm not a casual gamer so I'm a hard core gamer so I'm dont love it as much.

Smart tvs are still better We don't use are monitors as a tv Most people use their monitors even if it's smart for gaming and to do some video editing. That was the main purpose and computer. That was the main purpose of a monitor it was never made for televisions like that if I wanted to experiments Paramount+ Discovery+ Max Starz Sling and even do my Blu-ray Discs I recommend going on the big smart TV for that. Because that's what TV's were made for. Monitors are more for people who want some gaming and to do video editing. Even if the monitors are smart.

Both Samsung and LG's Smart Monitors has very very bad speakers. If i cant use this monitor without external speakers to watch movie why do i buy these? There are better 4k monitors without speakers and chepaer TV's with better sound. I think using this smart things as both TV and PC monitor isn't a good idea.
