That little white ring is a simple wrench used to focus the camera, very handy. It grips the side of the lens and turning it moves the focusing component in and out. I just continued and you figured it out yourself.

Nice to see you have the new camera Lee. The white ring is for adjusting the focus! Didn't you find that in the manual? It has also been delivered with previous cameras, that's how I recognized it.

This is really impressive. Just a question please --- besides highlighting detected objects in the picture, can we trigger some actions such as running a script ? I can already see use cases like countring people, detecting cars etc., so we need to use the information further.

@@wilbertjanssen1010 at 13 tops I would think the Ai module is more powerful. The in camera processing is more flexible as it supports older Pi models but I haven’t seen any mention of tops

What it shows is that the stand alone human brain is a fantastic organ. Can recognise things quicker without all the downloading.

@@tonysheerness2427 No, it doesn't. It has access to sampled data that allows it to work out the best probability for something to occur or some word to come next. It's just a "probability engine", essentially a large and complicated spreadsheet.

Anything that has "AI" in the title makes me less inclined to have anything to do with it. It's just marketing speak, an engineer should refer to it as PE ("Probability Engine") because that describes better what AI really is - just a statistical calculator, it is nothing more than that, and completely overrated.
