Salut from sunny, hot and humid Montreal, my fellow harmonica learning players and a huge hello and thank you to Lee for all of these extremely well thought out and made videos. I may be the only player experiencing a drug-like feeling from the hyperventilating. I have the benefit of being a life-long woodwind player so tone, embauche, bending, smearing, tonguing my only problem is to speed which practice making it easier with time.

It's just a bog standard Hohner Rocket. Their low end model. Hohner had sent me a couple to try out if I recall. You can still get a nice sound out of these harps if you have your tone down. Easy to play. Lee

Before your lesson, I think I've never heard or read anything about tongue flutter. Can you confirm to me that the flutter sound I can hear in the video is created without adding vibrato? And if you permit, I would like to be sure to do the good movement for this: is it one time hole number 5 open for draw sound and one time 3 holes 3-4-5 open for draw sound repeated very fast? Sorry if it's a beginner question...

+Lee Sankey I'm not shure, that's the pb! It's about some draw or blow chords discretely played in addition to the tab which give consistency to the piece, generally supporting the rhythm of the score.

Hi Allan, they are two different things. Tongue Blocking is an alternative technique to lip pursing for your embouchure. It's another way to control the air flow to achieve single notes and other sounds. Take a look at my 25 lesson course on Tongue blocking if you are interested. Lee! Thank you for your videos! I have a problem, maybe you could help me out. When I tongue block, my lips get dry very soon, so i can't move around the harmonica as fast as I need. I know I'm supposed to use only the inner part of the lips, but I manage to do it only when i play 3 holes at once. If i try to take a 4 holes chord, the corners of my mouth need to embrace the harp. So it's been 3 weeks or so, i've learned how to bend tongue blocking and to play some songs using tongue blocking, but this problem is still bothering me. So I decided to ask you for advice. Am I doing something wrong, maybe my mouth is too small, ahah, or will it just fade away with the practice? Свернуть
