I thought the eagle was Kangin because before, Kangin served as Teuk's partner in taking care of the members.

Yes indeed he is the best leader. In the first time he being hard to wookie and kyu because the two pf them have the shortest trainee days among the members, so he try to teach them disciplin, manner, hardship, and so on. Especially when wookie and kyu is the maknae so he dont want them to be spoiler kids. And its proof that SUJU still exist until now.

Eh well, I'm pretty sure at least with Kyuhyun, he truly dislike him at first. Which 100% make sense and understandable. I mean, as far as he knew, the group members would be rotated out when a new member came in. And as leader and hyung for his Suju'05 11 members, it's clear which one would he picked between a stranger and his members. Plus ELF also rejected Kyuhyun back then so I'm pretty sure he was also worried that they might lost fans and didn't last because of the new boy. And well, jealously might be a factor too. He had been a trainees since forever and even saw his hoobae debuted and became popular before him. And here came a brat who only trained for a few months? It's kinda unfair, isn't it? What's important and amazing from him is that he quickly wised up and trued his best to be a hyung, leader and protector for all his members no matter how his personal opinion to them.

To this day, Leeteuk is the member I want to protect most. He's the one with all the stress and responsibilities. He takes all the responsibility and allowed the members to be themselves and still maintain their image. As they have matured and grown, they can appreciate how much Leeteuk took on for this past 16 years. Such a lovely Angel.
