The Canal of Lefkada starts from Drepano Bay in the south
and ends at the northernmost end of the island in the bay of Agios Nikolaos.
The Floating Bridge "Agia Mavra" is a bridge in the form of a boat (MV "Agia Mavra" N.P. 26) in the channel of Lefkada that connects the island with Central Greece (prefecture of Aitoloakarnania).
Every hour the floating bridge "Agia Mavra" rotates and thus leaves the fairway free for the boats to pass.
As soon as the last one has passed the bridge rotates again.
and comes back to its original position.
The speed allowed in the fairway is 4 miles per hour,
so it will take you about 30-40 minutes to cross.
The maximum depth is 5-6 meters.
If you get the chance, it's worth doing
the passage of the Lefkada Fairway !!!!
