Sorry this got deleted on accident while trying to reply. @Jean Carl Here I am staying home during the pandemic- and am listening to left behind every night! What a delight. How did I not know about all this stuff? catholic school never mentioned revelations. Now I know this is straight out of the Bible. It has led me ambassadors of Christ network which is also great.being a believer is simple and uncomplicated, without all the trappings of religion. I never expected to go to this party but here I am- and it makes me want to dance. Love these audio book. Thanks for putting the, put there.

I never heard this in Catholic school or even Lutheran school. I read these a while back but it’s been so long and my eyesight is failing me. “Who but the most high God has power over death,” Nicolae asks after he appears to come back from the dead. That’s a good question. I know this novel proposes that Satan brings Nicolae back from the dead but…why does Satan have that power? Seems like something that should be beyond the devil’s purview.
@SuperBigdaddy19542 жыл бұрын
He really doesn't raise Nicolae from the dead, Satan merely wears him as a meat suit
@bunniesandbeheadings33362 жыл бұрын
@@SuperBigdaddy1954 Is he, though? I feel like the series is unclear on this. Tsion and co. think that Nicolae is just a glove...but in the book Armageddon or Glorious Appearing, I forget which, Satan comes OUT of Nicolae's body and starts scolding him for being an arrogant jerk and acting like he doesn't need Satan. How could Nicolae do that if he wasn't alive? Moreover, when Nicolae is kneeling before Jesus in the last book, Jesus condemns him for victimizing scores of Christians - something that he doesn't really start doing until his "resurrection." So unless Satan and Jesus are BOTH lying (Satan is a liar but Jesus isn't) in the Left Behind universe, Satan seems to have definitely brought Nicolae back from the dead.
@SuperBigdaddy19542 жыл бұрын
@@bunniesandbeheadings3336 Its on Glorious Appearing, Mac was there and witnessed it, you will also remember that Carpathia looked like a corpse. Jesus, didn't lie, because Nicolae sold his soul for earthly power and set things into motion.... I see your point however and I think it may be a literary device used in this sense, to convey Carpathia was but a meat suit. Remember Satan is a mocker and does his best to imitate, what he cannot do.

I love these books so much. However, the voice used for Mings Dad is awful. It’s a caricature, very negative stereotype. Racism does not spread the word of God very well.
@LeftBehindSeries2 жыл бұрын
This was in no way intended to make fun of or be openly racist. Please keep in mind that these productions are almost 20 years old and they did the best they could do with what they had at the time they were produced. I saw a very popular movie that came out around that time where the actor had a very similar sound to Ming’s dad. It is simply a cultural difference.
@valerieleidal7594 Жыл бұрын
Hmm, I think his voice fit the character very well. He was a man set in his ways, and his kids were going to follow in his footsteps if he had anything to say about it, and we know what he did to Chang. I think he portrayed perfectly Chinese ideology, and hierarchy in the family. Males in China are to be respected, in the family and whatever he says you must do, without question. Yes, I think he did a perfect job where his character was concerned. There was no racism. The way you hear him speak to his family is exactly how that generation speaks to their families.
@andyquach9826 Жыл бұрын
My Vietnamese/Chinese husband says other wise. He was very offended when we were listening to this. Maybe next time an actual Chinese man should be hired instead of white people using caricature voices.
@valerieleidal7594 Жыл бұрын
The way Ming and Changs dad speaks is exactly the way that generation speaks. He is the patriarch of the family, as such his children and his wife must show respect to him and the decisions he makes for them. No racism, and no misrepresentation of the culture either. That’s how it was back then, and likely still the case in the majority of citizens today. It is communist China after all. The average person there has a very regimented lifestyle starting at a young age.
