Thank you for the mirror image for the lefties! I have a large cranium (24") and I cast on 60 stitches. It's perfect. I also knit 9" past the ribbing section and rolled the ribbing up on itself to form a cuff. It's cute that way! Also, some words of advice for fellow newbies: make sure you have the right length of circular needle. I first tried on a 32" length and it was a nightmare. And, after you cast on, make sure that you aren't twisted on the cable! Check by laying the circular needles on table and adjust accordingly. Thanks for the video!

Thank you for the easy to follow left handed instruction! This is my first actual project, and I’m gaining so much confidence because it’s so straightforward and not too difficult. I am having some trouble getting my stitches to look as neat as yours. But I’m probably messing up here and there. I did find that I had a messy ball of yarn in the center after I finished the first purl/stitch row. I’m going to give the continental method a try next (I’m starting over). One thing I wasn’t sure about is when it’s okay to trim off the tail. My tail was reading long, so I was also managing that, but did figure it out as I progressed. Sylvia

the plastic that attached my 2 needles is way longer than yours.....so when I spread out the first row it doens't reach to cover both needles. Is there different sizes for different projects? I was doing so good until I had to attach the 2 ends! wahh!!

This is really old, but just in case anyone has this question: Yes, there are different lengths of cord for circular needles, not JUST needle size differences. The shortest cord I've seen is 9 inches for socks usually, the longest I've seen is 64 inches. You want to get the shortest length for your project that still allows room for all your stitches. Most patterns will tell you how long you need (this one is size 11 needles on a 16 inch cord). My best advice is to get an "interchangeable" circular needle set, it allows you to interchange the needles and lengths all in one kit, great for beginners. :)

@@bhookedcrochet your videos are great and have helped me understand a lot. Just a suggestion, around the 5min 45sec mark in your video would be the PERFECT time to mention that you MUST make sure all your cast on knits are facing the same way before you begin knitting the first round. I was 8 rows into the project (and 7 hours into it 😞) that I noticed my "hat" was twisted. Being a newbie, I didn't recognize the problem and it would've been SO helpful if you could've talked about what an imperative thing that is to do!!!
