My ex got custody of my kids at first. She couldn't maintain her house and was spending all the child support on alcohol and not the kids. She then decided to make the biggest mistake when she said, "if you don't like how I'm taking care of the kids then take me back to court". That ended badly for her not only did I get custody, she had to pay child support and was entered into the national child abuse data base and was given a no contact order with our children.

Over the last 5 years I've paid my ex almost $51,000 in CS. I drive junk vehicles, meanwhile she just bought herself a brand new 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 4x4 truck. Let's make it worse, most of these women remarry or move in with another guy and tell their children to call that guy dad and take his money as well. You get to help fund another guy raising your kids. On top of that, most child support is only supposed to be 50% of expenses, for the children only, rent and utilities don't count because the mother would have to have a home and utilities even if she didn't have a child. Another scam is mothers will claim hundreds of dollars in childcare, never have to provide receipts and then they let their mother or sister, or friend watch the child for free instead and then use the extra money for whatever they want. My ex-wife used to buy her monthly allotment of wine with her child support money so her husband making 6 figures wouldn't know she was drunk all day everyday.

So its your lawyers fault you didnt win your court case, your baby daddy fault that he has the kids, he's a narcissist for probably telling the truth to a friend of yours (probably a mutual friend), you say you don't care what he says but you blab the entire story on social media… Victim, victim, victim. 1) You chose your lawyer and if you weren't happy with how they were handling the case, you could have fired them and hired a different lawyer. 2) I doubt your lawyer didn't read the information you gave them. They probably realized that most of the things you “organized” mean nothing in the actual case. For example, my ex-wife handwrote amounts of money her mom had put down for a car payment as a gift to the both of us without any actual receipts to prove anyway. Many other things, but you get the point. You probably didn't have any actual evidence besides your word versus his of all of the “abuse” you went through. Not saying you didn't go through abuse, but if you don't have anything documented it wont hold up in a court case. Take some accountability and do the right thing. Stop blaming everyone else and start blaming yourself because you are the only one to blame for what goes wrong in your life.

I love this ladies take on single dads and yes the other lady did probably mean absent dads. As a single father of two I had to take off work because, of my sons being sick. I also did have a great support system because of my former Air Force brothers and sister that came by to see if I was ok. One friend would barge in, lol about every month or so to watch the kids so, I could go out and let my hair down. Ok I'm bald but you get the picture. She and her husband was there for me when my ex walked away after I left her so, I took the kids and we never looked back.

Something these women don't get, concerning child support. It's not a "fund your personal life" support. The "support" is just exactly what it says, its to "support" the cost, *DEFRAY* the cost of raising the child. Not completely pay every single expense support. She's supposed to put in too. Why is he paying 100% of the child's clothing and food and everything else? That isn't what child support is supposed to be. Child support is a *contribution* , his part, not *all* of expenses. And it certainly isn't supposed to be so high, that its a "baby momma wage". If the court thought she was deserving of having him compensate her...they would have made it alimony.

Child support should have the option of being paid in goods and services. Kid needs shoes? Okay buy him shoes. Same with food, pay the doctor yourself, get him a haircut, etc. Giving her cash instead should be a choice.

it makes me laugh that women do this, My ex got 340 dollars a month to start with and then over 700 a month and still expected me to spend more on things for my son. I could not afford to do anything with him, had my visitation with him and we mostly played video games because I could not take him on trips. All the while she was in a two income household. My son lives with me now and I refuse to ask for child support from her. I dont need it. I make enough to take care of things myself on just my income. I would rather she keep her money and be able to do things with my son to spend time with him then give me child support. He needs to spend time with his mom and have a relationship with her and do things.
