@@ayamastar same. When I went on The Simpsons for the first time I was out of commission for a good 20 minutes. I did Gringots fine because it doesn’t force you to stay in one position and the screens aren’t synced with the movement of the ride. The only similarity is the sensation of flying. Flight of passage is a stationary vehicle that tilts side to side and moves up and down. I and a friend went on this ride a few years ago. Neither one of us are roller coaster enthusiasts in the least but she was a massive Harry Potter fan and I was reassured by how tightly you are locked into these seats so we went. So until I heard her screaming in unison I did not know she had the exact same reaction as me but about halfway through the ride seemed to calm down a little bit so apparently both of us had the same exact idea at the same exact time to open her eyes so that maybe we could at least see some of the ride. At this very moment the dragon's face was in our face with it roaring and spewing smoke at us and you could feel the heat of the breath and you could smell the breath. Literally it seemed like the dragons nose was just inches from our faces. Both of us screamed like we had never scream before in our lives promptly we shut our eyes as tight as we could and kept our eyes shut until we were guaranteed certain that the ride had stopped. 🤣. So literally the only part we actually saw the ride what is the dragon nose-to-nose with us breathing out at us hot sulfuric steam! Don't know about her because we have since lost touch with each other but to this day I laugh at myself about it.

Oh, wow, what a crazy story! Believe it or not, it’s been proven that closing your eyes on attractions makes them significantly more scary and disorienting as you have no idea where you are going, and you can’t prepare yourself, physically or emotionally, for what you have in front of you.
@victoria7t2 жыл бұрын
@@jslandstudios Oh I believe it totally. Just that was a knee jerk reaction when the ride started and definitely when we shows that maybe it might be okay to open her eyes and we opened our eyes to that. It’s not a terrible ride, but I remember riding it and honestly being more impressed with the queue area than the ride itself. It was just sort of blah. I enjoy the Gringotts ride and even the train more. @@jslandstudios Fairly big fan of Harry Potter. Been to the Universal Parks a handful of times over the years. I don’t hate the ride. I just found the movement of the vehicle underwhelming and the area around the various screens not very interesting. I’m also a bigger fan of hand made art (Peter Pan) vs CGI or even a mix of the media done properly as in Universals Secret Life of Pets or Disney’s Mickey’s Runaway Railway. Examples of lazy or poor mixed media is Disneys Smugglers Run and to some degree Ratatouille. Ratatouille could be so much better if the set pieces looked like they had a personal artistic touch instead of just being straight up molded resin.
@jslandstudios2 жыл бұрын
I understand your argument, but I hope we can agree to disagree on this one. I think Harry Potter and the forbidden journey, with its incredible forbidden forest, chamber of secrets, Hogwarts bridge/castle, and Dementor scenes (amongst others), relies far more on physical media than it does digital media and only uses the digital media to add in characters/scene transitions that would be incredibly difficult to do in physical form. On that note, I do understand where you’re coming from comparing it to secret life of pets off the leash, where there is never a moment in that attraction where are you are simply staring at a large screen with no props (although the fireworks factory comes close).

Does it go upside down?? Im a ride chicken. I’m bolder tho sometimes if i know it doesn’t go upside down. I am a Harry Potter fan and I love Gringotts. I have gone through the case queue line but always usually bail out at the exit for those walking through. My mom got very sick on this and was experiencing it a whole day. I can usually handle more but i am definitely scared of intense rides. I am trying to conquer this though. Example i loved Cosmic Rewind at Epcot. How intense would you rate this ride on a scale of 1-10? Tips on handling nerves? May be going to the park mid September and hoping to ride this. Any ride that uses shoulder restraints freaks my brain out into thinking it must be really scary or intense
@jslandstudios2 жыл бұрын
It does not go upside down, but it does tilt you side to side and almost 180° backwards onto your back. The shoulder restraints are purely for your comfort as upside down attractions might use lap or over the shoulder restraints. Just know, this is the most intense attraction in the park, and, while it is certainly nowhere near as intense as a roller coaster, if you are prone to motion sickness, I would not ride this attraction. On a slightly different note, both of my grandparents who have back issues, went on this attraction and loved it, having no problems.

This is probably my favorite ride at Universal but it has a bad habit of breaking down! The last time I was there, it broke down 2 out of the 3 times I rode it.
@jslandstudios2 жыл бұрын
Often times it is not actually breaking down, instead, it is momentarily stopping because of problems at the loading station. "Breaking down" is when they have to evacuate you from the attraction on a ladder and close the attraction for the day.
@222JohnRambo Жыл бұрын
@@jslandstudios why they have problems at the loading station ? that not normal at all....
@isabelaa9838 Жыл бұрын
@@222JohnRambo hi, there’s a bunch of reasons. for example, if a guest falls while getting off or on, has trouble getting onto the moving platforms, and various other safeguards that can get triggered for different reasons. it’s usually not broken. i’ve seen it stop because the ‘students’ need to clean up vomit on the platform or because someone tall hits the pressure plate with their feet when hermione uses the floo powder. people sometimes freak out when they realize the floor moves when you get on lol.

I've been stuck for over an hour on this. It's horrid. Uncomfortable. A nightmare. For this alone the ride is just average.

It’s really weird when you go on at the first time, because it’s a sensation that most people haven’t felt before. To be honest, star tours at Disneyland, makes me much more sick than this does.

I’m a little surprised to be honest, I can get queasy and I did just fine... However, I did get sick on the Spiderman ride in the same park.

It’s always fun looking out the corner. I always find myself looking over the left side right after the whomping willow so I can see the extreme movement of the vehicle behind me.
@rats4ever5472 жыл бұрын
Yeah! Like right after when you go into the screen, I look to the right and see the people facing the whomping willow. I didn’t imagine it would look like that, it looks like it’s just throwing you around so quickly and aggressively. I’d love if one day when you go back, you posted a video with flash that shows all the movement of the arms from the best views.

The first time I got on the ride I didn’t watch any of the Harry Potter movies, but it was still fun to go on it, we had the fast passes so I went with my dad. The ride was amazing and very scary I had to close my eyes when I saw the spider and the Demintors because wow how close they get to you….scary. But I thought it was amazing, I’m surprised I didn’t get sick or dizzy. That same day we went again because my sister and mother wanted to ride it but me and my dad had already used the pass for the ride. The guy on the line was kind enough to let us ride again and I am very great full for that today. But on the second time with all the moving of the ride it got stuck, and me and my family where literally facing down, it was a part near the Quidditch match, and I was pretty scared because of how dark it was and since I was about 11 I felt like I was going to fall off my sit or the bars were going to open and let us fall. But the ride was operating again and their we parts of the ride that were missing (The screens) but everything else worked. It was scary but looking back at it it was my first time experiencing a malfunction on a ride. But Harry Potter: And the forbidden Journey, is one of the best rides, especially when you read the books and watch the movies .

When I was a kid, I remember riding this ride and feeling so terrified and horrible. I just remember feeling like I was stuck on a wall overlooking my death, and at one point being burned by a dragon. So when I went back to Uni for a school trip, I saw that Escape From Gringotts had screens and a dragon, so I thought I’d face my fears and ride it. And that’s the story of how I tricked myself into riding my first roller coaster 💀💀 Road this one later and it was nothing omg

More simulator than true rollercoaster. The cars move around a lot. Certain points you can almost be upside down. Don’t eat before riding.
