Marshallers are the eyes on the ground for the pilots. Could have been avoided and they seemed to have wing walkers as well. And St kitts in 2022 does not have any push back equipment so mostlikely the pole has to be removed from its place instead of the plane being pushed back from it.

No pushbacks? Why not
@SDK-im8sl2 жыл бұрын
@@mayi757 It's expensive to maintain pushback equipment and trained personnel. If there's enough room on the apron, many smaller airports simply rely on power-in/power-out maneuvering, However, if necessary for a disabled airplane, a tow bar and crew can be flown in and attached to a strong and heavy enough motorized vehicle, such as a construction loader.

@SKBenergy2 жыл бұрын
so why flightradar24 has wrong information ?
@MaxiAir2 жыл бұрын
@@SKBenergy - simple. National was supposed to take a different airframe in the first place, but did not accept that one. Its still stored in Lourdes (southern France) with National colours. The information on FR24 is for that aircraft, not the one they actually operate. You can see it has Rolls-Royce engines so the code is A330-243 - The other one had Pratt&Whitney engines. Cheers

@irish000112 жыл бұрын
Well, it is obvious the flight deck personnel, at the controls, were not aware of how close the moving aircraft's left wing tip is, in relationship to the static light pole. The exterior damage to the wingtip appears to be marginally minor. More than likely if the part of the aluminum skin with the ding on it can be repaired on scene.

No wing walker = mistakes. This aircraft originated from PSM, and it actually arrived at PSM today, and we all heard about this. Funny to see this flight come back to our airport. No matter what, the lack of Wing walkers contributed to this incident. We always have a wing walker if we are going to park planes close to the edge of the ramp or to other aircraft in order to prevent this sort of situation.
