Londonbeat - I've Been Thinking About You (Chris' Dance Mix)

A great song that was Londonbeat's only North American hit.
The original 12" single/CD single dance version was horrid - the remixers stripped out the popular CHIC-inspired rhythm guitar and left it sounding very sparse and dull - consequently it was never much more than a radio hit. It has been recently remixed (housed to death, I call it) by those who can't think up their own songs and choose to ruin the memories we have of previous hits - OMG, did I just type that!?!?

I was there for Disco and the 80's HiNRG et al. Once upon a time, an extended version meant more of what you already loved, not a dumbed-down arrangement by someone that couldn't follow an established chord progression.

You are so right on both comments, the song and what is done with old dance hits in the "house arena." Sometimes it works, usually with older slower songs, but for the most part that techno or heavy bass thumping over a classic dance track just destroys the feeling of the original. Nice work as always!
