Not gonna lie i'm not big on these kind of beats, the royalty sample pack beats sound kind of cheap verses sampling records or VHS tapes . but i agree some of his most insane beats are from 2003-2009 on the SP303, i wish he would start using that again. his newer stuff sounds way too clean i miss that raw sht
@SergioMartinez-el8kg Жыл бұрын
@@ncxbeats im gonna 100% agree with you, im actually close to saying that madlib has fell off beat wise. These recent collabs hes been doing (blackstar 2, liberation 2) have been very lackluster beat wise and sounds to clean for my taste. Im gonna give him another chance when the 3rd album he does with freddie gibbs comes out. Madvilliany will always be his best collab, just pure grimey dusty loops and beats.

It sounds like the music is for a more mainstream audience so he is evolving his audio style to a more wider audience, still sounds good but I prefair the more obscure audio sounds he produced before, some say weird I say non conformistic beat styles. I think he should make both depending on the targeted audience

Where does madlib find these type of drums? The snare rims sound so light and crispy and those kicks hit so hard without clipping. Anyone know any good drum kits for these typa drums?
@LeftFieldBeats Жыл бұрын
couldn't tell you where he sources his drums, but if you're looking for really hard hitting, clean drums I'd recommend the Decap Drums That Knock I-X drum kits. amazing sounds, clean, incredibly punchy but not clipping

he likely utilizes lots of masterful compression to get his drums to really snap

@@LeftFieldBeats Thanks, imma check those kits out. Also, the final beat was played on one of the boiler room sets him and Freddie Gibbs did for the bandana rollout, the beat starts around 6:30 minutes and has a different intro and has a different mix too (although that probably due to the setting of the recording.) kzbin.infob5TQxdWk1C8?feature=share Do you know where i can find more 2018-2023 madlib beats?
