Sky News host Rita Panahi reacts to an activist professor going into an “almighty meltdown” over a student waving an Israeli flag near a pro-Palestine protest.
Thousands of pro-Israeli and pro-Palestinian demonstrators clashed at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) campus over the weekend.
In one video shared to X, a UCLA professor could be heard arguing with a pro-Israeli protester about genocide.
The professor accused the student of trying to “provoke” other pro-Palestine protesters.
“She is happy to wave her arms around and scream about genocide but when the student makes the very pertinent point that the Palestinian population has increased significantly, she has no response,” Ms Panahi said.

As a university professor (in mathematical physics) who spent his entire life in academia, let me tell you this: most professors of humanities, arts, social ``sciences", etc. are significantly dumber than the average blue collar worker and are only in academia because they don't have anything significant to offer to a normal working society. The situation is much improved in STEM (although there are exceptions); a professor of mathematics has a genuine talent for their field. What genuine and deep talent do you believe a professor of gender studies or art history have? It makes me chuckle when I see people surprised that university professors turn out to be idiots. I'm American and I felt this shit coming almost two decades ago. I retired from the US Air Force in 2006 and immediately moved to Thailand. I took advantage of the GI Bill and went back to uni (I already had a master's degree). Four years of tuition-paid (all online) brainwashing. All the students and nearly all the professors were younger than me with zero experience. It was an eye-opener. I kept it up because the government paid well for housing, even though I owned my house and had no rent. I was retired. I had very bad feelings about the direction in which the US was moving. My daughter was born in 2011 and I would never, ever consider sending her to a U.S. university. I've visited the US twice in 18 years and would not recommend it to anybody. Lots of better places to go. Most Asians are 1000 x smarter than Americans and don't carry around the ridiculous cultural baggage that weighs them down.
