Complicated? Mainly just an arpeggio over different chords and not a whole lot more. Nevertheless still a lot of fun and a nice bassline :)

I'd love to know how worked out these bass lines were by McCartney, and how much he just intuitively played by feel. So many flashes of brilliance in them, I do suspect he just used muscle memory and played off the existing track from 66 onwards.

Well according to many sources he got this from a dude in the Caribbean. Which makes sense as it’s got that style to it. There are also records from around that time and place that use this. As a lot of people say, “nothing is created in a vacuum”
