Knotts Berry Farm Railroad

On August 28, 2012 we visited Knotts Berry Farm. The locomotive running that day was Rio Grande Southern 41. The temperature was over 90 and that made the tender ride extra toasty!

Both the 340 and the 41 have blind 2nd and 3rd drivers to negotiate the tighter radius curves encounter on the vaious narrow guage lines.

Were the inside drivers originally un-flanged? I thought that was just something model railroaders did.

Am I missing something or is there no independent brake stand...
