Fantastic details that were missing from my leg weave pass. Thank you professor, I will put them to good use.

Im def more of a passer than guard player and this has always been my most high percentage pass. Great to see it broken down step by step with the trouble shooting as well. Thx!

Passing to the back is a good path, but the "dope mount" is there if you can get your knee in, as well. If anything, I find it's typically easier/better to get the mount from that position than to pass to the back because it's less movement, which opens up or leaves less space for guard retention.

Yep, I love that option too

Hi, Lachlan. Do you have any tips to avoid being loop choked when attempting this? Getting caught whenever I'm setting up my initial grips, or when I attempt to tripod onto the bottom player's stomach. Thanks!

Use the lapel grip to parry their bottom hand, if they cant swing the bottom hand over your head they wont finish the loop choke. Or perhaps you are burying your head too low.

Awesome video thanks again. P.s. the grim spectre of death is a purple belt apparently who hovers in the background

Thanks for sharing this video , question what should I do if they have the lasso guard when I'm passing I've been swept many times,
@ih0p6 жыл бұрын
I use the last technique against a lasso grip. I like to windshield wiper over both legs into a crab ride/back take. Pretty easy to strip the grip from there, if he/she doesn't abandon it on their own. I bet there's a pretty slick twister entry on the top leg, and I bet it would work even with a lasso grip.
@armandobponce6 жыл бұрын
Thank you I will try to do that today

If I have the grip on the bottom leg I ignore the lasso and keep going. If they lasso and prevent me from gripping the leg then I have to change to a lasso counter (see other videos)

same thing if they are trying to cross choke?

Any tips for the hand fight that ensues over my left arm when I'm on top? Lately, my training partners have smartened up to this pass, and it's always both of their hands vs my left hand, as I try to reach for a cross-face or collar grip.

I faced the same problem, but I’ve adjusted. What I am now doing is scooping the head up, like a wrestling cradle.
@jmelinte3 жыл бұрын
@@robertsanchez4198 that's usually my goal too, but my arm still gets caught when people at my gym feel me hit the weave. Nowadays, I tend to hide my arm unless I know I have a clear shot at their head, and frequently transition to a C-sit.
