Klaus will act like he betrayed his family to trap daliah and make her believe that he is on her side, to by some time for his daughter. And after he ambushed daliah Esther and the rest of the family steps in and esther takes the weapon that can kill daliah and then they start talking and then she stabs her with the weapon and daliah and Esther freezed and died together as sister's. Matt Davies is the exception here, but everyone else should be fine knowing only the basic stuff. I can see that being disappointing to fans, and I'm almost certain they'll brush up on in-universe knowledge eventually, but it's extra-curricular and not a necessity.

@@elizabethjulia20 Much of the Hunger Games cast didn't read the books, same with Divergent. Heck, many people who portray the lead in biofilms never even read the autobiography. If the script is written well, they'll know all they need to from there. Plus, it makes sense for Legacies, as none of these characters are supposed to know who any of the originals were. Hope is still known as a Marshall. Actually, a lot of TVD cast didn't know much about specific details like these, only what pertained to their story line. It's a normal occurrence in film, good or not.

But as a fan it makes me sad and unmotivated to watch this show because I don't see how they can do it justice without understanding the legacy that they're continuing. Unlike all of the adaptations you listed, they aren't starting the first onscreen adaptation like with: Divergent, Hunger Games, Harry potter, or even TVD. They're continuing something that was already onscreen. I guess I just think it's too soon to create a next generation spinoff when the previous generation ended only a year ago. The fact that they also don't know what they're creating a legacy of just adds salt in the wound. If I'd watched this and realised they were also fans who wanted this spinoff to do its original justice I might have had hope for the show.
