Nice job Jason! I remember listening to your Grand dad when I was a kid growing up in Ohio. I had a couple of his records, and at the time I was taking organ lessons. Still wish that I could play piano! All of the Legacy songs that you played, were all familiar to me. Several months ago, I was listening to the Billy Joel channel on XM radio, and he mentioned your Grand dad as an early influence of his musical style. I thought that was pretty cool. Anyhow, you have perfected his style, and good on ya. It was a real pleasure listening to your now officially named show. Good luck to you, from Winnipeg, Canada. God Bless.

Awesome job Jason. That was a rather cute heart lifting duet with your boy Avery I really enjoy your playig just as I enjoyed your grandfather's for mostb all my life to date years. I was born in October of 1957 so by the time his hit song last date rolled out n 1960 I was a three year old boy and I remember I loved them old songs and Last date was my number 1 favorite song back then when I was three and then when I was about 6 yrs old I was really twirling and boogieying to last date. 60 years have passed and I am 63 now Jason and that song Last Date logged in my hearr and soul and it still anchors that top spot as my #1 favorite song of all time!! In fact I told my mom one time I loved thst song so much I vowed I was going to learn to play it I play guitar and enjoy that and also I love singing. I've sang in a few choirs including church choir so i enjoy singing the Old classic hymns but the oldies you are playing. Nice job on the Patsy Cline piano piece it sound quite lovely. I am shopping for a keyboard now specifically so I can learn to play Last Date before i die via a tuto4ial if i can find one. I Enjoyed your show very much. keep up the good work!!

Hi Jason, Here’s a bit of a long story but I’d like to share it with you in the hopes that it brings you added confirmation that your work is appreciated not just by listeners but also those of us who would like to emulate the style-even those of us outside of the tradition of Country & Western. I’ve been playing piano all my life - mostly jazz standards, show tunes from my Dad, a self-taught pianist born in ‘26, now no longer with us. Taught by my Dad, I read almost everything as a lead sheet, improvised. He always said to me, “Never make a great song into a dirge”. When a friend of mine, whose Mum just died, told me her father is now in a home and loves the older Country & Western music, I found a copy of the Reader’s Digest Family Songbook online so that I could play for him and the other folks at his home. Well, these are all beloved songs but I made them all sound like dirges! Oh no! This is what eventually led me to your Grandad and you; I needed to find a way to play these great songs authentically but I didn’t know where to look. Playing through the book, I came across “My Last Dance (With You)”. Right away, I recognized the ascending line at the end of the A section. I’d found it! The musical magic that gives this tune its character-what makes it not a dirge! It’s the embellished downbeats! I was sure I had heard this song with my Dad, listening to the Lawrence Welk Show! I even found that clip on KZbin! It’s your Grandad playing his instrumental version. Wonderful! Though a lofty goal, I’m setting out to absorb your Grandad’s style. The cadences and embellished rhythms are very different from what I’m used to playing but, thanks to KZbin, your Grandad’s recording and you, maybe I can stop making these great songs into dirges - for my friend’s Dad and sort of for my Dad, too. This is my long way of saying thanks for carrying on such an important style of music. I’m thrilled to have found your channel. All the best. From Jay K. 🇨🇦
