Sheikh Tahir Islamic Centre: This comprehensive project, which stands at the heart
of Bauchi state and encompasses a mosque, school, and housing quarters, represents a
significant achievement in providing a space for Islamic education, worship, and
community living. It is due to be commissioned on the 8th of March 2024 after 3 years
of construction. We are very excited about this.

Built by the Wunti Al Khair Foundation, the Islamic Centre is eponymous of Sheikh Tahir Usman Bauchi, a global figure, and renowned Islamic Scholar in the Islamic World.
Sheikh Tahir Usman Bauchi has a stellar reputation for his contributions to Islamic education and efforts to promote peace, which has stretched beyond the gates of Bauchi to a global status.
His legacy includes significant work towards the spiritual and educational development of the entire Muslim Ummah, making the Islamic Centre a testament to his life, which is characterised by solemn sacrifice, total submission to the oneness of Allah, the propagation of the teachings of The Prophet (SAW) and the proliferation of Islam across all continents.
The Sheikh Tahir Islamic Centre intends to be a beacon of faith and a citadel of learning in Sub-Saharan Africa.
THE EDIFICE
The Islamic Centre is one of the tallest landmarks in the city, and its minarets aim for the sky It is strategically positioned at the heart of the town and nearly equidistant from all the 9 ancient gates that provided access to Bauchi City for centuries. This makes it a central and accessible location for worshippers and visitors across the city. This prime positioning underscores its pivotal role as a communal focal point, promoting unity and accessibility for the diverse populace within the city walls and beyond.
MOSQUE
At the heart of the Centre lies the mosque, a beacon of faith and reflection. Spanning three floors with a dedicated basement area for female worshippers designed for inclusivity, it provides a tranquil space for prayer and contemplation, accommodating up to 3,500 worshippers. Its architecture seamlessly blends traditional Islamic aesthetics with modern comforts, fostering a welcoming environment for religious observances.
MULTIPURPOSE CONFERENCE HALL
The Exquisite Hall serves as a versatile space for both religious and educational purposes. It is outfitted with a state-of-the-art audio-visual system, enhancing presentations and gatherings with high-quality sound and visuals. This feature supports a wide range of events, from Islamic seminars, and Qur’anic Competition to community meetings, ensuring a rich, engaging experience for all participants.
PAROCHIAL SCHOOL
The Centre also houses a parochial school dedicated to shaping the minds of future generations, with 18 classrooms furnished with interactive intelligent screens, a playground for physical development, and lounges for our dedicated teachers. Our school offers a balanced curriculum integrating Islamic values with modern education, ensuring a well-rounded upbringing.
