Granted some of the voice acting in the soul reaver series was always amazing, it still had its early PS1 PS2 cheese sprinkled within

LOK : Soul Reaver was the first game without a loading screen ingame and it came in August 1999 , i had 19 yrs back then and 1st played the DEMo of Soul Reaver as a bonus on the Blood Omen LOK Disk. oh memories ! So nice that i can play this again at 44 yrs old :P

Good ol' trial & error, that's how. And lots of time spent frowning at the monitor. Oh and we appreciated that the puzzles were more intuitive than games that were so unintuitive, they'd either require possession of esoteric knowledge, or that you were basically psychic.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. The first game they really cheesed it near the end of the game I felt. The og original graphics were some of the best for the time and they understood how to connect two tile sets flawlessly. The updated graphics really show how drag and drop it was for them. They should remake all of them starting with Legacy of Kain. Get his story out there, then we can get Soul Reaver.

@@C.A.M584 I loved that feature! And the fact it's accessible on right stick click. I was frequently switching bw/ old and new and was amazed of how far the upgrade went (for SR1). SR2 got almost no treatment, the scenes were often 80% identical and some parts felt like a downgrade (Mobius for example has much better face expressions in the old version).

Something I have notice's is that when the camera is far away from the characters and they are speaking, there mouths are not moving. 1:53:14 and 4:35:05 are examples.

Imagine, they don't even blink😂😂😂 This is not a remake, just a remaster. God, there will always be such petty people like you. I played this game 25 years ago on PS1 and Sega Dreamcast. Imagine, we loved it because of the atmosphere of the game, the gaming experience was important. I read the comments and it's terrible how many "technical experts" the gaming community has produced. If it bothers you that their mouths don't move (and they don't blink ☺️), do it, show it, you know better. By the way, while the characters are talking, they sometimes convey emotions with their hands, if you noticed this too, then write it down. Do you want to play or be seen, decide.

@@k-yo I was sceptical of this because I'd honestly never noticed it before, but I checked and you're completely right, it also happens in the original. Kinda makes sense that the "issue" persists here in that case, because obviously they just wouldn't have had any facial animation data for the scene. It's one of those things that was probably just harder to notice before because of the lower resolution, but is made more obvious by the higher image clarity of the remaster.

@@yewtewbstew547 Indeed. Back in the day, some camera angles were definitely decided to minimize the number of facial animations, which were hand-crafted. Moving characters away from the camera enough for us to not notice the lack of mouth movements, having them talk out of view for a few seconds, and I also remember in the beginning a closeup of Moebius' eyes, not showing his mouth while he talks. Smart stuff, honestly. It's just that now it's more noticeable.

Usually giant statues that move. It's so crazy playing the first one being able to switch from the graphics update to og. I had a lot more fun with 1 than I am with the sequel.

What they need to do is remake Blood Omen one and two and combine them into one game Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen. Then they need to remake Soul Reaver one and two and combine them into one game Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver. That way you're not creating a super short game You're giving a nice full product but you don't have to change the story and you can use the same voice acting.

Man I'm glad they gave the option to skip the cutscenes on the remasters especially the 2nd game where the scenes were originally not skippable. It's like you would enter a 30 minute cutscene every ten steps lol. The story is great but having to watch the cutscenes over and over from a restart or new playthrough was brutal.

This'll be really handy for getting the Trophy for beating the game under 6 hours. Only things I'll really have to look out for is killing a greater thrall with an axe finisher and gliding for 25 seconds without an updraft.
