I cosplayed Raziel at a convention in Seattle over easter weekend. Not as many people recognized it as I had hoped, but those that did, thought it was awesome to see a LoK cosplay. Some pics of my costume are on flickr if you do a search for norwescon. Enjoy!

I loved some of the script in this game, like the things Kain would say - "We are all pawns in a game, Raziel, we are moved to a point and made to perform what we are destined to do. We can never change the outcome for the outcome is all that we exist for." - Or something of that nature. Great game, great theme music, great script.

Thank you for having this. I was young when my mother, who loved the legacy of kain series and got this one. I had to help her a lot. I fell in love with the character Raziel. Turns out years and years later we would be planning a co-op with the game Defiance.

I played them a lot when I was a kid but I never got very far and didn't really comprehend the story. I've been trying to play them recently but the lighting is awful. It was like trying to maneuver through the void.

Sexy Titan They aged pretty well, IMO. Graphics from SR2 and up are fairly good. Also, they support widescreen and HD resolutions, even if they were made in the early 2000s, which make them even more beautiful.

The protagonist of Soul Reaver is the vampire-turned-ghost called Raziel, whom Kain murders at the start of the game. While Kain is the protagonist of the previous game, Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, in this installment is the main antagonist. The Greater God resurrects and guides Raziel, explaining the controls of the game, and describes the events prior to the story.5 Ariel, who preceded Kain as guardian of the Pillar of Balance, appears as a spirit and offers advice to the player. During his search, Raziel meets his brothers - Melchiah, Zephon, Rahab and Dumah - who serve as bosses in the game. Each one has developed unique abilities, which are partially absorbed, when Raziel murders them and devours their souls. A fifth brother, Turel, was omitted due to limitations in the development time.

Everytime I listened to this masterpiece I fell like I am in another world. Truly this is not just Raziel's main theme but the soul of Nosgoth itself. Yeah I agree with mcspoons on a prequel of Soul Reaver were Raziel is still a Vampire with a new storyline before Raziel's encounter with the Elde God...and do I hear a silent guitar strings? Awesome! I want to hear about Raziel's years as a Vampire, his clan and his fledglings.

Remastering every old title + and giving us a new one with dlc's. I am sure that they will do this one day, because they will have problems finding new good stories so they will choose to take an old one and bring it back to life. I know people, loyal fans of the series are in a state of limbo at the moment. But, don't fret, folks, soon our favorite and true Vampire saga will return. I heard from the Eidos CEO that he is interested in bringing the series for current next generation consoles, the PS3 and X360. All the installments in this wonderful, underrated series were masterpieces in their own respects, yet the gaming critics bashed it with their ego; this series will make an awesome anime series, expanding its story.

@mulletwesker because of first games from these series :] they were called Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, Kain is the main character in the history of Nosgoth itself, the Balance Guardian ( well main from the point player's point of view ;) ) and main object are the Pillars ( The Pillars of Nosgoth was the first concept of game name ) and besides, Kain awoke Raziel as a vampire from his saraphan tomb, and his brothers also ;]

Why not? LoK is still one of the best storylines in videogame history. As all great ones, its far older than any games that are just decent. Geez I've grow up on LoK games, these are some masterpieces of grotesque epicness. And why is is so great? All the warped iconic elements, defying blatant philospohies and morals. And of course, the characters. Kain and Raziel are the bad boys trying to put everything where it belongs. Paradoxes ensue ;) Cheers loyal fans ;)

Without a doubt the darkest game ever. With all the vampires, zombies, 2 worlds and all the buildings. Add to this on of the most stunning puzzles ever made and you have a recipe to make one of he best games in the history. Still waiting for Soul Reaver 3 and now after playing new Tomb Raider this idea is not that stupid because they can make a game which will bring all the best things from previous parts and even will add more.

On March 20, 2012, a source told VG247 that Crystal Dynamics is returning to the Legacy of Kain franchise with a Soul Reaver reboot. Details concerning the project are thin, but the source said the title is a "full reworking" of the game and includes new art direction. God of War II director Cory Barlog joined Crystal Dynamics to work on a yet to be announced title.

I recently bought Soul Reaver 2, had it once as a kid but was stupid enough to trade it away, now it´s time to get it back to my collection, i still have the first soul reaver (with the 3D cover ;D) and Defiance, gona try and et the Blood Omen games aswell :D i love these games, more gamers should know about these masterpieces. Hope they make a new LoK or Blood Omen game, or even HD remaster the old ones!

This is one of those stories that if you don't play the first game up until the last game you really don't know it's true meaning. The story has so many twists and turns you have to marathon it to know exactly what it's about. It's not called Legacy of Kain for nothing. Main point don't post you know anything about the plot until you've played every game.

I don't think you understand. Raziel wasn't fighting "evil guys" because he was a hero; he was driven purely by revenge for what Kain did to him. It didn't matter if his adversaries were evil or not. In the last game, however, Raziel has a different drive; survival. A defiance of fate. If you actually played the Soul Reaver series instead of badmouthing it, you'd already know that.
