Idk they are hitting pretty hard. This beat is designed to have vocals on it though, so the beat isn't taking up 100% of the audio space. If it was a trap beat to be released on it's own, it would have hard drums and 808s because there is no need to leave space for vocals@@johawnn

Yeah making a baseline can be difficult. I always look at the melody, and usually follow the lowest note on the melody. I tend to try and follow the note that’s the closest to C5 as that tends to sound the best. Watch my other vids about drums to learn more!

So would I be right in saying, it's best to have nothing on the master (for selling beat files), and just level between -6 and -3db properly? Then you can use soft clipper, izotope, etc. on the beat to post on youtube, for example, so it sounds good. Or should we boost the song with a clipper when we sell it, because the engineer can remaster it anyway?
@LegacyBeatsАй бұрын
Yeah so boost the volume with the master. That way, the volume is loud if they just want to use the master. If they want to have the non mixed version, they can buy the trackouts which won’t have the volume boosted.

aint no way bro cranked the post gain on the clipper all the way up and pulled threshold all the way down...on the master. lmao don't do that. compress and if needed, soft clip your drums on their own mixer inserts or send samples to a bus if you have a lot of drums...then compress your melodies on their own mixer inserts or bus....then you can put a soft clipper on the master along with a limiter/compressor to increase overall loudness without having an insane amount of gain reduction affecting the master. soft clippers are better used to assist compressors and limiters with harsh transient peaks from the source signal and to round out gain reduction and ultimately get more loudness out of a signal. you don't need make up gain at all with a clipper. you use compressors and limiters. the only time you would even "need" a soft clipper on the master is if you are trying to squeeze an extra .5 to 1.5 LUFS without distortion before the signal hits the master compressor(s) OR if one of the samples in your mix has harsh transients. some good tips here...especially gain staging and sample selection which are very important....but also some oversight. ggs tho.

Most platinum producers especially those who make trap beats are actually pretty ass at mixing and barely understand the software, they just send it to professional mixing engineers to get it to sound good

LOL .. I'm sorry but you have no smallest cue what (professional sound) sounds like .. go and listen to any song in top 10 then immediately listen to what have you done here, you might understand. What you just did here is 99.9% of people do, grab sounds from here and there without even knowing how good or bad the sounds were at first place, the moment you selected first two samples I knew how your final product will be going to sound and I was 100% correct. Very poor .. you need to watch this video of yours and re-read my comment after 20 years to understand what I said. And if you think that I'm just throwing words, I can meet you online and 100% make you understand that your mix in this video sounds like something coming out of a poor phone speaker even by listening to it in on a professional monitors in well treated room. Its just Dunning-Kruger effect because Platinum Producers is just easy to type.
