This is very important: at one point, you may have read a comment from someone mentioning that, in a few years, migrants arriving now in the UK will become eligible to vote. Did you know that the vast majority of migrants coming from outside Europe (primarily from Commonwealth countries) are eligible to vote in general elections in the UK from day one, even without citizenship? This is something the British public seems largely unaware of. Another reason why EU migrants were preferable is that they did not have the right to vote in general elections or referendums, unlike migrants from India, Pakistan, Nigeria, and other Commonwealth countries.

The problem with migration to fill lower skilled low wage jobs, it that this is then deemed unacceptable because if you have a particular ethnic group on low wages it triggers the need for DEI to remove them from these job into higher paid jobs. The jobs need to be made more rewarding than benefits etc so people in the country want to them. Otherwise, it just adds to the ponzi scheme of our current migration rates to solve problems it just adds to.

I lived in in Australia and care workers can’t get a job in aged or disability care without a nationally recognised vocational qualification or be officially working towards it.
