Ahh , first the session is helpful and very important , Thank you so much ma`am for the session . second Opinion, so in my view holding, Secularism is good for the country specially country where all religions treated equally as per constitution and respected by the people . so this is the good judgment because in schools and all colleges where all religions students go and study so this will good, it will show; we are same as in college and all academic places,without any religious identity but we have one similar identity that is Indian, we are Indian even with holding different - different Religious identity. But my second opinion is We can maintain our secularism with respect in some other ways like , Hijab can be allowed like ,it will show that We as Indian who respect all religion and all different student of many religions come and study together without any problem. I think this can also unity students and shape their mind for unity in diversity . Note----- this is the only personal opinion, i never want to hurt any religion and i do respect for all religions. hijab or parda is basic and core fundamentals in islam why karnataka HC don't recognise it i also can't able to understand and to ensure discipline it has to be permited at least hijab with same colur as dress code so that to ensure discipline and also article 19 and freedom of religion must not be neglected just by giving asscuse that it for all regardless their religion cast etc.. women in islam do parda not to show their religion identity they do just because they wanna cover their self just i say its our core religion practise instructed by quran and hadis

If ths court really wants to ensure the education accessibility to larger section of society then they should allow burkhas and hijabs in school and educational institution... its not about religion vs education it is about the comfort zone of those students who come from islamic family... I myself has seen so many kive example where many of my muslim friends are not allowed to get higher education if they don't accept the conditions of their parents and their parents conditions is as clear as yamuna these days... so if h piece of cloth can ensure their education then i dont think theirs any harm

Neither of them cover the face of any person. We have seen Men posing as women under burqas and attacking others (Delhi riots 2020). None of that is possible for anyone wearing Turban or Kada.

@@blurgaming538 You still dont get the point. Turbans do not hide the face or identity of a person. If there is Mr X with a turban you would know that the act was done by Mr X, but under burqas, you don't even if the person wearing that has the same identity shown.

@@musabhassan1959 true, government should ban all the religious things. But banning turbans is not possible due to constitutional guarantee that the Turbans are essential for sikhs. Constitution of India does not mention any essentiality of Burqas or Hijabs.

The session was very informative! Thank you According to me, this judgement is incorrect. If we are to bring any such judgement on the matter, we should study the need of bringing in the rule first. Here the college had implemented the Hijab Ban due to problems faced by children in accessing college etc. In this regard, it should be the students choice to decide whether they want to remove their hijab and enter college or find another way out. I'm saying this primarily because many Muslims in our country regard Hijab as a part of their identity which they cannot be so easily deprived of citing ease for them as a reason even when they didn't ask for it. Yes, many Muslim girls might be happy with this rule, but many may not. Therefore, it is most appropriate to let Hijab-wearing be a personal decision. When we talk about secularism in this way, we should talk about Sikhs wearing a Pagdi also or Muslims fasting during Ramzan, or some Muslims leaving class during its course for their mid-day Namaz since these are also ways how religious identity is revealed to the class. Therefore, to bring in absolute secularism especially in the conduct of a student which intervenes with their religious practices might become a broader topic to think about not only restricted to Hijab on a Muslim woman. And this according to me will bring in unnecessary problems in today's India where people are still not ready to give up their rigid religious practices. Such rules should be brought while taking into consideration the time in which they are being brought in. Further with another perspective, practicing religion isn't something that harms education necessarily, in fact it promotes the feeling of unity in diversity, promotes relations to grow among students of differing religions, promotes children to look beyond one's religion and background and with these thoughts rising is when real secularism comes into play.

​@user-oi1ey8hx3q nothing has been stated as invalid firstly. Second educational institutions have their code of conduct for students which needs to be upheld. Hijab and burqa are just banned for educational institutions. It is not like ki they are banned for the entire country. Culture to aise sti pratha ka bhi tha. Hata dia na.. Culture to triple talaq ka bhi tha . Hata dia na cause it was unreasonable and detrimental . You are allowed to smoke but not in public places. You are allowed to worship any devi devta but not in the middle of the road. You have certain freedom as per constitution but with reasonable restrictions. It is one of the reasonable restriction in the context of education. If it were an essential practice as per holy book Quran , it wouldn't have been banned.

In my opinion the verdict given by both Bombay HC and Karnataka HC is justified because act 19 to has some exceptions and one of them is that art 19 cannot overlook the interest of general public or the interest of ppl at large. therefore , the verdict is justified thank you mam the session was good

@@dhananjay674 who told you? Hijab means covering your body or head. Saudia banned Burkha during examinations. also made a law that no one is forced to wear burkha. Other counties have not banned hijab they instead have banned the Arabic Burkha and ordered women to wead traditional dresses (which allows covering of head)
