Edit: Actually... nope. It's 2022 and I still wanna marry Emmet Forest by Christian Bale. Edit: It's 2023 and I thought it faded but after a thorough rewatch and happy enjoyment of the musical I am still madly in love with Emmet Forest played by Christian Bale. 😩 Edit: It is 2024, and I am still in love with Emmet Forest played by Christian Bale. 💔 I've been more consistent with this than with anything else in my life.

Actually he’s doing a little jig with his feet, but you can’t see his feet. The paper moves weird because he’s moving it in time to the jig. If you watch the full MTV version, there’s a wideshot at this part and you can see him do the quick dance with his feet.

the moment I fell in love with their relationship was when their show was in California and they’re in the department store together. Emmett is in the suite and Elle is drooling looking at him until he says he looks like Warner, and she gets this cold stunned look and says a sore “yeah” until he says “but it’s just me”.... and she starts smiling again and sings that she couldn’t and wouldn’t ever change that. She put her hands on his shoulders and rests her chin on his shoulder, then helps him out of the jacket with a far away look in her eye. She just loves him so much

Kind of interesting how, over the years, Christian Borle started getting repeatedly type-casted as assholes and creeps (Willy Wonka, Pirelli from Sweeney Todd, Will from Something Rotten, Orin from Little Shop), when what's arguably his breakout Broadway role has him play the softest, most sincere guy you'll ever meet.

actually his breakout broadway role was all the characters he played in Spamalot, that's even how the creators of this found him. But it is sad how much people, even Christian, put him as a character actor and typecast him to assholes even though he can do so much more. However, there are a lot of people who know he can play anything cause all those assholes, and Marvin and Black Stache, are all vastly different.
