They didn't tell you that Senna only had that acident with Prost in 1990 because in 1989 Prost did the same to him. But in 1989 Senna didn't give up even when Prost crash him by purpose. No! He managed to come back to the road with a broken car, went to the Pits to fix his car, came back in 5th and finished in 1st (he would be world champion again). But the FRENCH (just Like Prost, both French) F1's director disqualified him unfairly. That's why he was SO PISSED ABOUT PROST IN 1990!

Schumacher cried like a kid when he equaled Senna and im 99% sure thats the only time he cried in front of the cameras...thats how much he respected Senna...and he saw Senna die in front of him too so... 12:21 in 1989 Prost crashed into Senna and in 1990 Senna crashed into Prost

In 1990 Senna had Pole Position and the FIA decide to put the PP on the dirty side. Prost startet on the better side on P2. The President of the FIA on these Days was a French Man. I would have done the same as Senna. In 1989, Senna restarted the race in last place after the crash and ended up winning. Was then disqualified because the race restarted through the emergency exit of the chicane and, according to the FIA, the race was shortened because of this. Other drivers did this in 1989, but only Senna was punished for it. Incidentally, the FIA President in 1989 was the same as in 1990.

Obviously all drivers know all the corners of the tracks they're racing at, what they mean is that he almost had a supernatural gift about where the grip was, which is always changing, especially in the rain. At one with the car and with his senses, with everything all at once. He described his racing like an out of body experience, I believe, leaning entirely on raw talent, he could drive a track with his eyes closed. No amount of experience or training can make you like him.

I never saw Senna race live back in the day, I was just a kid who didn't even knew of F1, but everything I've seen I can see why he was special. He definitely had this sort of gift, the things he achieved, in the era he did them, I find it pretty impressive.

In that era all pilots were monsters, the cars were absurdly light (500 Kg) and dangerous, no computerized electronic assistance (the pilot needed to control EVERYTHING), the tracks were dangerous with bad asphalt, in the middle of all that, the engines of the cars were true turbocharged beasts of up to 1450 Hp, and when the turbos came into action, the car was transformed from a sailing boat to an electric chair in a second, and with all this field of war, Ayrton Senna managed to be FAR ABOVE all the other experienced warriors. As Tina Turner personally told him, dedicating her song to him at one of her concerts after his victory in Australia... He was "Simply The Best"! Brazil still misses you and will always miss you, champ! 🙏🏻🇧🇷

12:21 Yes he did and in the previous season it was "reversed roles" and despite what everyone can say, Alan Prost made sure in 89 that Senna wouldn't finish the race and became World Champion. 90´s crash was just a straight-up, no bullshit payback-in-kind imo! And tbh... i'm glad Senna did it! From there-on after Prost knew that he couldn't just bully and get-away with it! (Still major props for Prost's skills! Forever one of the very best ever in F1 History!)

That wasn't Niki Lauda. That was Mika Häkkinen, Senna's last team mate at McLaren, who went on to win 2 championships. After that, when you asked "Who is that", that's David Coulthard, Williams' test driver, who replaced Senna after his death and would win 13 races in his carrear.

5:20 about the "dancing car", it was wiggling like that, because it was barely holding his grip. Senna had the control, but the car almost can't hold it. After reducing the speed for a turn, he steps the pedal to regain speed in such way that a normal drive could spin the car right there.

Senna could also hear if something was wrong with the engine. Drove a few laps during a warmup and came back to the pits and said there was something wrong with the engine. The people at Honda checked the data and according to them the engine was fine. Honda then decided to replace the engine and bring the removed engine back to the factory. The engine was dismantled at the factory and it was discovered that it was defective and that he would not have been able to drive a racing distance with it.

One has to understand why Senna crashed into Alain Prost. That year before at the same track Senna needed a win in order to keep his World Championship dreams alive. He qualifyied as 1st and the F1 boss Balestre ordered to switch the pole position side so Senna would start on the dirty side which gave Prost an advantage. Later in the race Senna saw a gap and wanted to overtake Prost but Prost crashed into Senna. They got Sennas car running again and he continued to race (it was legal to do so when the car was in a dangerous position to help, and it was). Then later Balestre after Senna won the race decided to DQF Senna because he missed a chicane, yea obviously because of the crash with Prost ... Seems like the F1 boss always had something against Senna or simply wanted his countryman Prost to win, who knows. In Monaco 1984 he also got robbed of a win against Prost, in 1985 when he won in Imola it was raining even more than in Monaco 1984 and they didnt stop the race.

I'm glad i was old enough to have live F1 on the public tv-channel, in Portugal, every weekend during the F1 season (actually my parents had =D) and also to be old enough to be able to remember watching Senna since 89! What a fkn Beast of a driver (to me the GOAT)! When he died i honestly shut-down F1 for almost 10 years until i got engaged again with the prospect of a new raw-talented driver (Juan Pablo Montoya) being able to battle it out with a "new brand" - BMW, against the genius Michael Schumacher (RIP Legend). Nowadays i'm really excited for this 2002 season with all the new regulations and different car designs!... and in the end, given my bias, i just hope Aston Martin and Sebastian Vettel can make a brilliant season this year!

As today his foundation has helped over 12 million children finishing school. What Brundle said about Senna putting others in a position where they would have to make the desicion of having an accident or not made me think... Verstappen does that and receives a lot of backlash for it, while Senna is regarded a hero with a few minor flaws. Would this have been viewed in a different light if Senna didn't die? Or will we look back at Verstappens antics more favorably in 30 years time? Regardless, Verstappen reminds me a lot of Senna on track - and that's a compliment.

Bigger turbo, softer tyres and much higher turbo pressure with bigger turbo! With this settings the car running ~1300 Horsepower with extreme turbo lag. This engines working only ~ 4 or 5 lap and after blowing up! kzbin.info/www/bejne/anusiYOnnNyEfs0 FunFact 16:47: This is not same car!
