The little brass ring thing looks like something that I have seen before...I believe it's part of a curtain rod that slides back and forth on the rod that helps the curtain open and close... Maybe,???

RIP to your mom Mike,today’s hunt beats not detecting. Next time will be better, so far I killed it on relics and other stuff especially the 1935D mercury and 1968 half silver Canadian dime. I still have (yet) to find my oldest coin ever. I’ll be praying for the IHP and other things. I’ll be looking forward to your next one 👍👍

That's a ring from a compression fitting . I know how you feel my mom left 29 years ago and my dad 28 years I miss them both.I pray you have true peace of mind the peace that can ONLY come through Jesus the Christ 👍
