The memories. Kadessa was the first location to start giving my team comp trouble. I can just see the bronze backdrops and hear "VOLCANO!" "Rod... TyPHOON!" and "Pursuuuit" while listening to this. I wasn't very good when I was 9, so I struggled through to Zenebatos with that setup. Strange how a song can drudge up such specific memories.

@@GarrettTurneyMrTremelo I watched the rest of your LoD covers and subbed. These are some of the better metal arrangements of game music I've heard, so I hope your channel grows a lot going forward. And thanks. Gehrich was one of the more complicated side villains that really brought a lot to disc 2's meandering even though he only shows up for a moment. A decent guy that strayed from his path and wound up leading a ton of awful dudes. Not my favorite, but obscure enough for me to use this name everywhere I go.

A lot of people dislike it for the frequent back and forth "padding," but it was clearly done because they had to intricately tie together multiple subplots and character arcs and give hefty payoffs in the latter half of the chapter.

Honestly, it wasn't too bad! I've been playing guitar for 16 years, and I used to play along to the soundtrack by ear when my buddy would play back around 04-05 😁 the rough part was writing a tasteful solo while keeping the elements in place and true to the original song. I'm happy you enjoyed!

Here we are! This one always stood out to me as a kid musically. From a young age, I had already affiliated with Metallica, Iron Maiden, Rush, etc, and this song would make my ears perk up. Even before I knew how to play guitar. Needless to say, the OST for TLoD was immensely inspirational for my music taste.

DUDE, I'm with you on that one. If I remember correctly, I had transcribed the sheet music for the victory/gold/exp menu, and it was sitting nicely in 9/8 time. I didn't even bother with it when I revisited it because the bass that I own to record... sounds much better in a mix than it does on its own. Cheap boi.

All the best stuff either gets taken over by EA and then destroyed, or it comes out for a bit, then is shelved and the makers die/retire, and thats the end of it, and all we're left with is a stagnant legacy of a game that will never get the love and building-on that it deserves! @@GarrettTurneyMrTremelo thankja, i'd imagine we get LoD game again once SE milks drags out and milks FF7 "remake" which is a sequel but time traveling to "remake" ff7 by altering through time travel. i feel like i already know the story they are trying to tell in these episodic releases, the demand for the graphical immersion lessens the grandiosity of the world map and blocky characters but that allowed them to fit all that to us in one game. FF15 felt empty after the long wait sorry for the rant lol i get like this about jrpgs.
