I love Final Fantasy, but after replaying Legaia recently after many years, I'm beginning to think that my beloved FF games are a tad *overrated* now. This game is easily among the most unique and best looking titles on the PS1, yet there's *nothing* pre-rendered in-game and all on *1* disc too. A shit ton of effort and love clearly went into Legend of Legaia only for it to sadly fall into obscurity it damn well doesn't deserve... If FF7 can be remade on PS4/PS5, (and stupid shit nobody wanted or asked for like Bubsy the Bobcat or Shaq Fu can come back from the dead with new games, so can Legaia...) then *Legend of Legaia* sure as hell deserves it too. 😎

Your second line is exactly my thoughts on this game. You could tell they really put a tremendous amount of dedication and heart into the development of this game. They really wanted to make something that stays in people's hearts and minds long after the game is finished. It's easy to recognize true art when you see it.

Oh yeah, both highly underrated and unloved games...though Wild Arms at least had a few sequels and even a remake. Though I did hate that the dupe trick from Wild Arms didn't make it into Wild Arms Alter Code F.....oh well, still great games with fantastic soundtracks and stories. I'll take those two aspects over fancy graphics anyday! A shiny turd is still a turd after all

I remember the soundtrack mixing with the theme so perfectly. As a kid I seeing these organic horrors, pulsing walls, mist covered zones, the death of a character that was so visceral (it hurts!!)... looked at the E for everyone... well that was a lie. Lucky for me though, definitely formed my opinions on themes in rpgs.

It's a shame the second game left me so underwhelmed but this one was a masterwork, sadly overshadowed by ff8, but in a way I'm glad this game flew under the radar, because of that it hasn't seen the taint that a large fandom brings to a game like this. This brings back some seriously awesome gaming memories. Does anyone remember the final songi battle? When I was young, I saved in that area and was so underlevel, I nearly softlocked my save file lmao Really makes me think back to all the parts that my younger self never wanted to level grind for. The final songi battle, Gaza at the bottom of Sol Tower, Berserker, Xain, and even the Delilas family right before koru. I'll admit I had to abuse my point card there. I revisited this game a year ago and mopped the floor with them all :D
