I remember this game for the PS2. The main theme was the darkest of the entire spyro saga. It had the feeling of an impending doom that was about to strike as well as tragedy.

I was scared as hell the first time I played this game, I though it was going to be something childshid like good ol' spyro, but I was so wrong. I ended up loving this version of him a lot, heck, I wish I had my ps2 to play it again once again :(

I remember getting this game on my 9th birthday, though I was wanting Dawn of the Dragon, and when I heard the main menu music, I was a bit scared, because I was not expecting music like this in a Spyro game. In fact, this game creeped me out from how it was always night.

Despite the fact that the mechanics, difficulty and gameplay utterly killed this games potential. The creative scenery, character development, voice overs, story and especially the music just capture you.

That God Damned Ship boss fight you had to fight while you were captive in those pirates ship was infuriatingly difficult. Also now that I think about it this sounds stoopid. Fighting a pirate ship inside a pirate ship. That Giant tree monster in the forest was straight up stupid, having to restart the whole thing if you died. Also his movements were very limited when gliding, couldn't properly turn 180°.

There are those who disagreed with the action focus, but the Celestial Temple remains one of my favorite levels to this day. Not necessarily for its content - the combat and platforming in that one had a way of being annoying and it was a bit of a hike (but nowhere near as bad as the pirate ships or Malefor) - but for its ambience. It SOLD the mystic atmosphere perfectly, it really felt like something otherworldly. Something between all time, as it were, befitting the Chronicler's home.

Fuck a duck I haven't played this game since christmas two years ago because of Dead space 1 and 2, GTA IV, NFS, Midnight club LA and all those games. I miss the young Spyro and was pissed when he grew up with Cynder. Since then I turned to CEC engineer Isaac Clarke and CEC Pilot Ellie Langford.

Well... I actually beat this game in 8 hours once... But man! The final boss (1st part) is 500x harder than any other part of the game! Btw, my favorite part of the game is the pirate part, I love the pirates.
