So great! So many fun and important memories. There are a lot of reasons Erich produced so much success. I always felt that it was because he took you and your racing so seriously that you had to take yourself and your racing seriously, even if you were 9 years old. I've had the pleasure of knowing a lot of "big time" coaches in several sports but only a couple that could transcend their sport. i.e. They would produce success in whatever sport they were in. (Bo Schembechler) Erich was such a coach. I remember being at a camp and playing another team in soccer. One of our teammates had a penalty kick to win the game. He made it and claimed he was nervous lining up for the kick, until he heard Erich yell "YOU CAN MAKE IT", then he knew he would. I just won a state-wide election and I know Erich had a lot to do with it. Bing Brown

This is an outstanding tribute to an outstanding coach who had a huge impact on ski racing in the USA. Erich is an example for all about how a person can teach and mentor young people in ski racing and life in general.

Those skis were bigger than Lindsey was! I'm in her age range and I still can't carry my skis worth a darn. I live in Florida so that explains some of it.
