Legend of the NYPD: Chief Robert K. Boyce, his Wisdom and Dedication to the People of NYC

Here are fascinating police stories and life observations from a true gentleman of public service. After completion of the NYPD Police Academy in 1983, Robert K. Boyce would began his stellar police career as a Police Officer in the 24 Precinct. He would later be promoted to Sergeant and assigned to the 73 and 75 Precincts. Commands and further promotions followed with assignments to several precincts throughout the city, including the 67, 77, and 40 Precincts. Another 4 years were dedicated to the citywide Gang Division, a difficult role where he cultivated more knowledge and experience in crime fighting. In 2014, he was hand picked by the living legend of Police Commissioners, William Bratton, as the Chief of Detectives, serving with distinction, and eventually reached the mandatory retirement age of 63 in 2018. The hours were long, yet he remained a "cop's cop" and gentleman. Innovation and success were his hallmarks in crime fighting, saving countless lives during his tenure and helping NYC achieve historic low crime levels. Although retired, he is far from being inactive and resting on his laurels. A humble family man, New Yorker, and great friend of the people, he continues to share his expertise in crime fighting as a WABC News Contributor in all matters related to Law Enforcement, and has appeared in the Oxygen "True Crime series, New York Homicide." Chief Boyce is also active in Law Enforcement and Security Consulting. In a purpose driven life, there is no rest. The work continues for this man of passion.
