NotePerformer is an artificial intelligence-based audio engine that works with Sibelius in producing audio playback. Unlike other sample libraries, the AI makes playback sound more life-like as if one is asking musicians to play with specific markings on the score. There is, as is expected with technology,, no true soul which renders NotePerformer incapable of performing the more beautiful, lyrical classical pieces.

Hey everyone - I recently invested on an upgrade for all my MIDI projects as I attempt to bring the beauty of classical music-making into the MIDI world with traditional instruments, taking inspiration from Hans Zimmer’s Interstellar and Jóhann Jóhannsson’s Arrival soundtracks. This upload marks the beginning of this new MIDI upgrade and is my very first MIDI and mix from scratch, of the Title Theme from the 1998 classic The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I had oriented the mastering phase of this mix in consideration of the original soundtrack mix for the game, including some of the panning done in the original mix and the unedited ocarina sound for this Title Theme specifically. Thus, the naturalness aspect of doing this project from scratch also gives me a legitimate sense of nostalgia which I (to be honest) had not felt when I previously did this mix via the computer last year. I decided to go with this Title Theme to begin my Yamaha projects because Ocarina of Time was the very first video game that I had thoroughly been exposed to and remember fondly. A bit of explaining with the colors on the keyboard visualization shown here in the video. These five colors represent the five of the seven sages from the game as Link visited the temples throughout the storyline: Saria, Sage of Forest (green); Darunia, Sage of Fire (red), Princess Ruto, Sage of Water (blue); Impa, Sage of Shadow (purple), Nabooru, Sage of Spirit (yellow). Rauru is the Sage of Light and Princess Zelda is the leader of all sages. I had it programmed in a way, coincidentally, that the MIDI notes blended with all the colors. My next two keyboard projects will stay with the Ocarina of Time game as I record and mix from scratch Zelda’s Lullaby/Princess Zelda and Kakariko Village. The Zelda lullaby has stuck with me through the years since my first exposure to the game and I am really excited to replicate this finally with my keyboard. Kakariko Village was where I loved to hang out and just play the music in the background. Stay tuned and I hope you all enjoy this:
