BARROCO TAROT Oh no. I know what it's like to have a long list of decks and not be able to decide which one to get. Maybe ask the cards whether or not you should get it. It's a lovely deck.

This was the first tarot deck I ever received. A friend bought it because she found it pretty but could not read it so gave it to me, just the cards back in fall of 1999. I couldn't figure it out for the life of me and it set me back learning the tarot for 5 years because of my utter confusion reading it and trying to look up the cards meanings online, till I bought the $12 rider waite and then learned the cards with those simple drawings. Then going back to the original deck I pictured the other card to know what the cards meant. I bought the companion book at last off of ebay and then never bothered to read it. The 7 of swords, 10 of spears, and 9 of shields do not read intuitively for the authentic tarot meaning not knowing the source tale. Also, I did tear the front of 8 of shields while shuffling by accident, but I placed a piece of mailing tape over it and it shuffles very well still and I haven't had it effect the decks readings with it on.

This is definitely not a deck I would recommend to the beginner. I started out with the RWS and it helps to read other decks. I also picture the original when I read decks that don't look traditional but I also read the image on the card and listen to my intuition. All three help give an accurate reading. This developes over time. It took me a long time to learn how to read the cards but it was worth the wait.
