@medmuscle3 жыл бұрын
"Made in China"
@Fix_It_Again_Tony3 жыл бұрын
@@TheExplosiveGuy I'm not trying to be a smart ass, and it may not be obvious but a tube make a stronger driveshaft than a rod for the same amount of material. This is because if you locate all that material as far from the center line as possible it is more effective at resisting twist (wall thickness does play a part, but it's a balance with diameter). Think about a lever. The longer it is the more force can be held. Same principle here. More material farther from the axis of rotation makes a stronger driveshaft versus a solid one of the same weight and material. The larger the diameter the less effective the material at the center of the rod is at resisting twist. This is why almost all modern driveshafts are hollow. In heavy duty race applications like KOH they actually gun drill the axle shafts because the material at the center of the shaft is not effective at resisting twist and just adds to the weight of the shaft.

Just a small reminder to everyone that torque figures alone don't matter, the only thing that matters is the torque curve with the rpm since they determine the power. And power is the thing that determines acceleration, not engine torque.

Hogwash!!! If you want to impress me, big rig drag race in reverse!!! I have had this idea for years, but as I am now getting quite older, I must pass on this idea to other people who can carry on the idea. If you can do a quarter mile in a big rig, with a trailer, and do it in reverse, I would be impressed. Anyone can make a stronger engine and go forward, but do it in reverse, then you can say you are one of the best! Until then, you are just a dope with a lot of money to waste!
