@@APRH305 Clarkson worked a lot with Tiff Needell who was the undisputed drift master. Probably taught him one or two tricks. Clarkson for all his faffing around, is the best driver of the three.

This is one of my favorite cheap car challenge segments they did. Also fun fact about the Austin princess James May's car is the reason it looks like it does at the back is because originally it was going to be a hatchback but British Leyland decided against it because it might take sails away from the struggling Austin maxi.

I've always wondered how the water part worked. On the one hand, there are probably many, many more holes in the car floor, vents, etc. that would have let the water out more quickly. On the other, this would most definitely kill the electronics - sure, these old cars were more mechanical, but they still had e.g. electronic ignition that was wired into the cabin and would have shorted.
