Even The Undertaker confirmed that Dan Spivey was legit. And NOBODY to toy with.

I saw The Undertaker telling a story about a time he and Dan were tag teaming together and had a match with the Road Warriors. Taker tells it that Dan worked real stiff with the Road Warriors, and he believed that the Road Warriors were going to come looking for a fight in the locker room. Taker said he started taping up his fists and getting ready to fight. Spivey told Taker not to worry about it. Sure enough, when the Road Warriors got backstage, they shook hands with Taker and Spivey and thanked them for the match. The point of the story was that not even the Road Warriors wanted any smoke from Spivey.

Another big guy that could have been used better. When he came back as Waylon Mercy he was pretty old, could have done something with him earlier. Maybe not the best wrestler, but neither was Hogan or Warrior. He could have been a Stone Cold type character.

I feel like Adrian Adonis was probably a tough guy himself, and would beat the shit out of people. However, he ran up on a bigger tough guy who taught him a lesson. Adonis seemed to be liked by his peers, but also seemed to beat up on job guys over dumb stuff. Spivey is also poorly regarded by many of his peers, but seems like he was a big tough guy who wouldn't back down from a fight. Unfortunately Adonis isn't around to give his side of the story.

Things Tampa tough guys didn't want learn the hard way. 1. How fast the brothers from Brisco Brothers auto shop could snap your arm. 2. How hard Dick Slater hit with his right hand 3. How hard Dan Spivey hits with his left. That leg dive the guy tried is probably really effective in a fight against a puncher most of the time. Lord knows I was always afraid of getting my right side locked up in a fight. When you run into a lefty like Spivey and try that same move he'll make you pay.

@ronniemacdonald2768 But why not mention it until now? Do you know how many shoot interviews Spivey has done over the years? In each interview, he talked about the fight with Adrian and not once did he mention them burying the hatchet in Japan. He never said that until recently and I suspect he wanted to come across as a better man on Dark Side of The Ring. This interview here happened after he took part in Dark Side.

Before wrestling, Spivey was college football and drafted by the Jets (but didn't sign), a boxer, a bouncer, strong arm for a loan shark, a repo man, and a bounty hunter. Don't f*ck with Dan Spivey. The other wrestlers all say Dan was a gentleman, quiet, good to work with, and a nice guy. They were surprised to find out how dangerous he is. Many of the wrestlers disliked Adonis, although Piper was his friend I think. Adonis had a rep of being a bully and being a prick. Guys said he was gross.

Adonis would’ve won the fight easily if Dan was right handed like 90% of the population; but it turned out Spivey was a lefty; and while Adrian was on the shoot it exposes your side, everything from your ribs, chest and chin; well Spivey just threw his dominate left hand hooks and uppercuts landing flush and sent Adrian to the floor on his back.
