Everyone automatically goes to the Randy Rhoad’s solo’s (or Zack Wilde) when talking about Ozzy’s guitar players but Bark at the Moon has some of the best written solo’s that you’ll ever hear. Jake E Lee is so underrated. Great video 👍.

Absolutely, Jake Solo’s are way more intricate to play than Both Randy and Zak.
@brandondickie34562 жыл бұрын
@@michaelmiglino6512 craziest part about Jake’s playing imo is whenever he does those crazy tricks like the harmonics and pulling the neck and pressing the string behind the nut and releasing it while also pushing the neck making dive bombs without a bar. And he was and is extremely technical down to the tonal effect of using different kinds of batteries in a pedal board, or slanting his pickups to match how Jimi Hendrix had his pickups just to get ‘slightly more fat sounding’ bottom strings and ‘slightly more bite’ from the wound strings. Randy’s the neoclassical guitar lord, Jake’s the mad scientist guitar ninja who partly reminds me of the other 80s shredders of the time, but yet he’s just different for some reason. He’s better than an 80s shredder, and Zakk’s the chicken pickin blues viking.

A true musician that was giving every shredder back in the day a run for their money, even Yngwie, because Jake was an overall well rounded player and never stuck to some certain style or technique that categorized him. Jake was in a category all in his own and that's what every guitar player strives to accomplish in the end. Good for you Jake, you reached that area only few have been.

Still my favorite guitar player of all time! For me Jake had/has it all.
Jakes command of the fretboard is at an all time high here. Saw him on the TUS tour and Jake was mind blowing, at the top of his game. At that show at the Worcester centrum in Massachusetts, he got pulled into the crowd guitar and all after he dangled his guitar neck out over the crowd during the solo to 'I don't know'. Bodyguards and security rushed in and eventually got him back up on stage. He tried to resume the solo where he left off, however his guitar was horribly out of tune. He took off his guitar at that point and threw it clear across the stage where it slid up underneath a drum riser whilst feeding back at about 120 DB. There was about a five minute clap along with Bass and Drums until he finally reappeared with another guitar, and just slayed the remainder of the show. Every once in a while, Jake would walk up to the area of the stage where the mishap took place and flip a bird to the guy or guys that pulled him off stage,,,all while shredding solos out note for note. What a magical time. I'll never forget it.

Hi, Eric. You know man, I have already tried to like Motley by listening to their stuffs, but honestly I did not like this band. Sometimes the song begins ok with cool riffs, some good progression but then it gets the most boring thing for me. Don't like the vocal nor the instrumental parts in general. Whenever I see or hear someone saying that likes Motley Crue I always ask myself: what do people feel of good in their music that I just cannot achieve and notice?
@SonicVR122 жыл бұрын
@alexander fernandes valu I can understand you're perspective. I don't think critically, most people are going to say Motley are the most talented, skilled musicians or band. It's really all about the feeling they create. They've always kind of been a band that the total is more than the sum of its parts. If it's not something you're into, then you probably never will be. That's ok. I will say I find the older records more interesting and fun and easy to get into. Then it became more certain songs than entire records, which I think kind of supports your commennt...comment... moments, then lose interest. The Corabi record was the best thing they did after awhile. And honestly, I lost interest by the time their newest material came out. But for me, those first two records were just pure magic.

I love Randy and Zakk but Jake for me not only held his own but carved his own sound. He respected Randy's solos but often added his own style. I love the echo effect in his suicide solution solo and the extended outro to bark at the moon. I got into heavy rock through Jake and Badlands and then back through Ozzy and then other music. His playing shaped mine ( although I never profess to sound like him or get anywhere near) and I'll always be grateful for that. Having seen many bands, if ever I am asked my top gig, it was seeing Badlands at Edwards No8 in Birmingham UK and I stood about 10 feet from Jake! I also played at the rescue rooms and the following week Jake played there with Red Dragon - I stood on the same stage ( albeit a week later) on the same stage as his! Thanks for this amazing compilation!
