Having followed her dancing before ever knowing she was gonna be on a show I was so surprised at how attitude she was (😭) however she is right and I love that she’s being genuine and not playing nice for tv. This is all stage production, she and her contemporaries had to cobble together costumes and deliver the goods underground. Talent first, all this stage production is just pandering for television and is distracting from what’s happening on stage.

the judges are expecting cleanliness, togetherness, and passion on the floor. this is 100,000 dollars. this isnt a cute little 50 at ur girls pier function on a thursday summer night. also nobody's forcing or pushing anybody to do anything. the contestants VOLUNTARILY and CONSENSUALLY went on the show, knowing they were going to have to integrate concepts/settings that exist outside of ballrooom, into their storylines and performances. dont victimize these participants. they're at a competition, competing. if you're okay with every house coming out giving you the same 4 count then so be it, however the contestants shouldn't be coddled or pitied for missing the mark.

It is because houses after houses putting more than just skills and creative way formations and way to make it looks fun and start using even more props to do things that the ceiling is so high now. Ie: Season 3 has some seriously high production value performances it actually insane how much money they have to put into the show now.

I think what is challenging about this show is the format is not consistent between the seasons. Also, the way the teams are put together by production along with the type of challenges given isn't allowing the cast to display their range of talents. Vogue is an important part of the ballroom but so is face, runway, bizarre, etc etc. Those other categories need to be displayed more like in season 1.
