That's no A series... it's a 1725cc alloy head Rootes Holbay lump in the Hillman Hunter, Daniel! I had what turned to be the earliest surviving Hunter on the planet... I didn't know that back in 1999 when I sold it! It's a 1967 & I was the 2nd owner!! It's now going through a full concours resto somewhere in Scotland. Cheers. Leigh.

Leigh, legend. I appreciate all that info. Dang! It's gonna be a good time when you once again see that car at a car show and meet the current owner. That's awesome

Force 7? I learned something new today! I was aware of the P76, but this just is a whole new chapter of obscureness! I just love it! ❤
@wasabicars Жыл бұрын
Really? You've heard of the Leyland P76? I'm very surprised at that! I thought no-one outside of Australia/NZ would have heard of it. The Force 7V is obscure for sure. I wish I could have included much more information on it
@banpeinet Жыл бұрын
@@wasabicars I was subscribed to Practical Classics magazine for over 10 years and in that timeframe they did cover twice or thrice the P76 because it's such an oddball. If there wouldn't have been a connection to the UK through BL I think they wouldn't have covered it. Hardly read anything about Holden's in that magazine. 😉

Your epic enthusiasm should never make you feel embarrassed Daniel... It's contagious, and it's lovely to see. It always makes me feel like I'm there experiencing these cars in person. Cheers!

Sweet car for sure. And, it was after editing this video that I had time to go back and watch your video of the two Marinas. So great to revisit your NZ/Aussie vids. Thanks, Ian

Just been reading about the p76,what a coincidence! (Classic and sports car,sept '23) Great to see such a large number and such a shame the oil crisis put a stop to this and eventually Leyland Australia?The 7 is kind of an Aussie Renault 15 /17. Fair dinkum!
@starfox_wr-45e93 Жыл бұрын
Wow, a lot of the Aussie Leylands are way more interesting than British Leylands. 😀 I never knew these existed. Grew up surrounded by BL/Austin/MG/Rover in 80-90's U.K. They were mostly crap... but they were ours.🤣 I miss do them lol Thanks for this, Dan. 👍🏽

Odd. I searched pics of that car and immediately thought I could see the resemblance. But odd, because also not similar. Lol!

Ah, but see. There's gonna be a Part 3. from this event. 1 was JP cars, 2 was Leyland/Euro, 3 will be... Holden, Ford, Chrysler. It's also gonna be the biggest by a long shot. Could take a while to stitch together. Thanks for watching. Hope you're well. Oh, played 7d2d recently? I haven't. lol. Want to; can't

Hey Dan'o mate, hope this is the kinda stuff we can expect when you move back to Oz. What a massive bloody show! My old man worked as mechanic at an Austin garage and would only buy British so i grew up around this stuff. Thanks for the Boxy Volvo love and hope you're good mate 🤘

I think Leyland Australia were in a real tough spot financially in 1975. They were pushing to develop big cars just as the early/mid 1970's oil crisis kicked off and kicked on. And, Australia was a small market anyway. Any, their other products, they they have their fans, weren't... cutting edge or anything

I Jeremy Clarkson dosent find out we have all those marinas here Better look out for falling pianos Dan 😂😂 My grandad had a white executive p76 with a blue roof when I think I was about 8 or9 When they came out they were 20 years ahead of there time If Leyland were not broke when they were trying to build these things may have been different

Kinda related. Did you here Leyland crushed the 30-50 Force 7 bodies by dropping the panel dies on them? Sad, but also, LOL!

I for one, am very disappointed that Daniel hasn't invested the millions he has surely made from KZbin into time machine technology so that he can slow down time and show us each and every car on the property, including the cars in the parking lot. Also he needs to go to Wikipedia for each car, and read me its story so that I don't have to do any research on my own. If these features aren't implemented into his videos soon, I will be unsubscribing!
@AXIDNT66 Жыл бұрын
On a serious note though, those Targa Florios are really cool, had never seen one before as we must have never got them in the States. I will take that cool lime green-ish one.
