This is a good welder, I have welded a full 10lb spool out of mine so far. Truck frames, chicken tractors. 2 things to keep in mind it has MDX tips for the Mig gun there not easy to find cheap unless you have an Airgas nearby. Price was 1650 in 2020, get the tig pedal if your doing thin metal. Do not run 6010 rod in it but it will weld 6011 and 7018 very nicely. Never cycled mine out.

@@chrismeyer6196 thanks! i am considering returning it, for 700 more i can get a new unit, with warranty, with a helmet, gloves, regulator - tossing about. The box looks new though - so not sure its worth it.. fwiw this unit CAN do tig alu on DC - you just need to use helium~

Were you using is as 110 Volts or 220 Volts when it wouldn't keep up with the 3/8" welding? Thanks, Great insight.

Patrick Wagz Thank You for the question. We always use the 220 setting. It rarely doesn't keep up. It's a great tool! Can't wait to get the tig attachment. Keep watching! Enjoy

When we first purchase the welder it was obvious we had made the right decision. It works great on everything we need it for and then some. it is definitely worth the investment at any level for a shop. I can't wait to try the tig system. for alu tig DC you need (100%) helium on the 215, the 220 has AC tig for alu (100% argon) but costs almost twice as much

I've owned one for 2 years. Lift arc tig is pretty nice, a "buttery" arc. The stock pedal is junk though. It's too small, awkward and toy like. I changed out it for a durable and manly USA weld pedal. The built in mig works as advertised with 3 different gasses, it's not remarkable just adequate. I ran 1/8 7018 rod, I reached the duty cycle automatic turn off feature after steady burning just 2 rods. I set up my machine for the 150 spoolgun. It can spray .035 aluminum and steel fairly well. Glob and short circuit works best. It's not a high production machine but it works well as a hobbyist setup.

We always weld on 220. It only paused that one time in the 6 months we've had it. Great little machine that works like some of the big ones.
