In this video, we have Peter and Gary check out and review this stunning Hugger Orange 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z28. For more American car content, check out our recent video on our Ford GT collection: • The ULTIMATE Ford GT C...
The Z28's aggressive stance and long hood give it an unmistakable presence on the road. Its vibrant Hugger Orange paint catches the light, accentuating the sleek lines and classic body curves, while black stripes run along the hood and trunk, adding an extra edge.
Under the hood, the powerful 302 cubic inch V8 roars to life, delivering that iconic rumble that turns heads. With a 4-speed manual transmission, it offers a pure driving experience, connecting the driver to the road in a way that modern cars often miss. Inside, the no-frills cockpit is all about performance, with high-back bucket seats and a simple dashboard focused on the essentials.
Every detail, from the chrome bumpers to the rally wheels, embodies the spirit of late '60s American muscle. This Camaro isn't just a car; it's a statement piece and a true icon of its era.

My favourite Camaro. The closest I got back in the 70’s was a Nassau Blue, 69 Camaro with a white interior and a white vinyl roof. Only had the 250 6 cylinder in it! Did have a rare option though. You could turn a knob below the speedo and set a pointer in the speedo. If you set it at 60 mph it would buzz when you got close to 60 so you knew you were approaching the speed limit or wherever you set it. I actually grew up and lived in Brampton at the time. Not too far from Ledgendary!

Mine is right outside, I’m 52! I seen it for the first time at 3! I remember looking at myself in the hugger paint. The owner my mom’s friend ended up being my boss! So I was able to keep begging for the car. She told me when I turned 25 she would consider it because it was mean. My 25th b-day with my income tax in my pocket I went into her office!! One of the best days in my life. Pounce and I could tell you the rest of the story but you probably wouldn’t believe it. Bank robbery 3000 miles away the California car ended up in NC! My outlaw. Bbc 4 speed 9 in. Nothing like it. My 04 GTO is new enough to give me today,but well maybe you should see them setting together!! Makes me glad to be a man!!!

Personally, I think this car has become a cliche. There's probably more z/28 looking 69 camaros in existence today, than actual 69 z/28s. Sort like how all those Cobra kit cars look like the competition Cobras which were very few. In fact, these z/28 - original or clones.- are so common at car shows, I just walk on by. So many are just reproduction parts catelog builds. There was an original 69 camaro at a car show a few years back. Someone had ordered it as a single purpose car. It was a base camaro with no options other than a 396/375HP engine and 4speed gear box. No PB no PS and no A/C. One belt turning a waterpump and alternator. This car never got used as intended and was in original condition. It did not get driven much due to it being difficult to drive on the street. A very interesting and different car to see.

The '69 was the last design left over from Larry Shinoda before he left for Ford Motor Company, where the '69 and '70 Mustangs Boss 302/429, Mach 1s had his design magic.

Why do people keep saying the Crossram came in the trunk of the car! Its was never an option and never came in the trunk. It was a over the counter GM item you could have the dealership install on delivery or purchase and install yourself. By the way fantastic ending with the homage to Tom Hnatiw
@jeffdean64
@jeffdean64 12 күн бұрын
So true! The order forms for a 1969 Camaro had a long list of options that could be selected, but adding a crossram to the car (either installed or uninstalled) was not one of them. The dealership parts department was the only source for those items. "Delivered in the trunk" is an urban myth that has been debunked.

I have 69 RS. Have owned it for 45 years as second owner. I have all those options but have some rare factory options such as power windows and factory 4 wheel disc brakes with positrac rear end. Mine has a factory courtesy light package I’ve never seen on a Camaro. Mine has a 327, 350 turbo hydromatic. I bought it at 16 years old and thought it was the most awesome car to own with thr RS package and hide away lights

Loving the black stripes instead of white. And the houndstooth, nice. I would have ordered the JL8 option - discs at all 4 corners would have made it 100%. Weren't the headers a dealer installed option? The RS package is a winner. Yes, I need a car like that.

I read once that the 69 body style almost didn't happen. GM wanted to release the 70 body style, but it wasn't ready yet. So they made a 3rd first gen. the 69. More meaner looking, speed streaks on the sides, and so on. Turns out It's the most sought after today. It was kind of an after thought. A one of a kind. Like the 57 Chevy, only the 69 is way cooler! I have a 69 RS, red with white hockey stripes, that I've had for 47 years I'll never let it go. I'll will it to my son lol.

Legendary car that everyone raves about with its small mighty mouse small block 302 that was so much lighter than the venerable 396 big block brother but nearly as powerful with its higher revs. As much as I idolise this Z, the next year, gen model was truly better in my opinion. It handled much better with its new low-slung design and suspension. And regarding the ‘70(.5) Z28’s engine, the 350 LT1 was dimensionally identical in size & weight since it was also cut from the small block. However, it had much more hp & low-end torque and almost revved as high!

Not me, I want a 1965 nova 400. I think the Camaro looks boring, like gmc said let’s copy the corvettes look because we’re horrible at designing cars lol, love the interior. We have had 67, 68 and 69’s in our family back in the 70’s and early 80’s. My brother loves them, but there was something about his baby blue black interior 1965 nova ss six cylinder 2 speed powerglide I feel in love with, the interior was so cool.

Your feelings on it are probably do to the fact that the 69 Camaro has been the most sought after and popular model for 40 years. I new things went insane when I saw one at Daytona Turkey run selling for 15k with the bottom rusted out of it and a tree still planted in the backseat.

I think it was because when my brother got them they looked good and he turned them into primer ripped off vinyl top rusted pieces of crap, remember him taking a 306 or 305 out for a smoking 350 and removed the auto for a stick shift cut in the floor were the smell of burnt oil and exhaust flowed through, my brother ruined them for me, I own a 68 base model charger now XP29H almost done restored factory original with some 68 upgrades that would have been available for a option on the base or r/t

Dad ordered our Z in '69 after riding in Jim Hall's Z (yes, of Chaparral Racing). In '02 we copied how Legendary restored that maroon '68 L88 Vette in DCG series. Factory-appearing (bolt-in/reversible) upgrades to suspension (spring rates, dampers, bars, Delrin bushings, etc), 550 HP on pump gas, 5 spd, WS6-valved steering & 4 whl brakes. So much fun for early-AM twisty drives with Corbeau seats and Momo Retro360 wheel as the only changes to interior. Any parts unbolted are in a crate that'll get sold to the next owner if they want to revert back to stock. Someday, we hope to bring it to Legendary for a light refresh. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rGnRdaKHhLhje9k

Simply the most beautiful Camaro ever made the 1969 Z28 it doesn't get any better than that . This is what disappointed me so much about Chevrolet when they brought the Camaro back for 2010 , this Camaro is just flat out butt ugly , yet THE MOST beautiful Camaro ( the 1969 ) why couldn't they just make it look like that .
