Great video, very nicely structured. One tangential question: How do I fit in a Looter to get access to spices from a territory I can't conquer yet?

Your best bet will be to replace Alchemic with Looters - It will allow you to keep the highest speed, but it will lower your daily Spice output.

@@NocturneGamingOfficial And if I've understood things correctly, the looter gives it's bonus only after I've acquired 75 stacks, is that right? Can I then wait for 75+ stacks and then swap a pet out afterwards? As I'm typing this question I realize I can probably test this fairly easily myself with one of the easier territories...

I tested this out with grasslands, and it worked fine. IIRC I had 114 stacks, swapped in a looter, and now I have 159 stacks + 1 of the next spice.

@@claesgyllensvard9275 That sounds like a great way to unlock another Spice if you can't beat the next foraging area, since you only need 1 of any Spice to use it for discovering new recipes in cooking - Nice catch!😀😀

Very good and helpfull video! Especially liked the smooth transition to the different spice setups. Can't even really think of anything u missed other than how tsar and maybe merc can be really helpful for the later spices which are hard to get enough fight power for

Nice! There is convertor but most have read discord by then, I think you covered it all though, if you do a update you should mention the best spices t1 beach and crypt for best pets. And doing a whale swap.

dang bro nice guide :D also a setup that i use here for good early setups fleeter, badumdum, miasma and a targeter fleeter for 30% badumdum for 40% both from top and bottom 4x from miasma and targeter for 5x contribute. cool right? btw you cant have 2 or more the same type like 2 fleeters for miasma to work you can replace the bored bean with bunny if you unlocked it

Actually, having 3 alchemic + 1 converter in spice 1 nets the most spices in general. Alchemic procs do not trigger the increase in foraging speed needed for the next spice.

That is correct! Once you have converter unlocked, you will want it in that team.

Converter pet allows you to have a 50% chance to claim spices without resetting the amount you have collected. An example - If you have 35 Spices on Grasslands, and the converter pet ability activates, you gain 35 spices and can claim from grassland again for another 35 spices to total 70 spices.

Thanks for this video, it was very helpful. I just started collecting baby boas, and have a question; should the pet with the highest levels always be placed below? I tend to place the highest level pets in the top areas to quickly gain the first tiers of spices.

Yes, you want the higher power pets in the lower territories because it is much harder to get enough of the spices to upgrade your kitchens. Later on you will get alchemic and converter pets that will give you a lot more spices in the early territories.

I took a break from pets, and just went back and I remembered this video. How come your frosty flakes are a target type, and the ones i Just unlocked ar combat/ninja?

There was a patch shorty before recording this guide that added new pets and changed their abilities around. Any pets you had before the patch kept their old ability.

I'm sitting at step 4 right now but the snow flakes are not targets anymore they are something else so I'm using 1 snake 2 whales and a bean to complete it

Very nice! Lava did change the pet abilities around for some pets, and the Snowflakes I had were obtained before the update. The Snake pets do the same thing that the Snowflakes did before the update.

@9.33 is the bloque showing as forager when it should be alchemy? Also Elephant showing as alchemy when it's a looter 😮 I found replacing the alchemy with fleeter in the last setup gave me better gains.

Some of the pet's abilities were changed during a later patch after this guide was released. Using Fleeter will give you more speed per hour than Alchemic, but every Spice not claimed increases the amount of trek progress you need to get another Spice. When Alchemic procs it gives you 2 Spices while only increasing the required trek progress by 1 Spice.

There was an update to the breeding pet system after I made this guide that changed some pets' abilities. Pets that you had before the update did not get changed to the new ability.

It may be best to use a combination of (Borger | Miasma | Fleeter | Monolithic) until you unlock Flashy and Alchemic - Hope this helps!😁😁

This is a good point - once you have the converter pet (Bop Box Pet) then you can replace Flashy or Alchemic with it to increase your gains depending on how often you collect your spices.
