Spoiler allert: Basicaly, there is a greater evil going around, the same one from KDR: Vengeance at the very end The heroes in this game go around to defeat said evil And veznan? He went to find the source of said evil, and found it at the Elven city where the final battle of KDR: Origins was

Oloch always had his own plans going but i imagine an otherworldly superpower is not helping those. Vez'nan himself is going against all that, and ridding himself of a few disloyal and/or corrupted underlings along the road is just efficient, all the more so if someone else is dealing with them for the low price of getting away from you.
