Agreed. To me, this specific side (side 2)of the original Apollo Vol. 2 album was the absolute funkiest live recording The Godfather ever did. The band is in a complete zone here…and they always were, but here it’s some OTHER LEVEL stuff! There are some JB fans that seem to think the stuff with Bootsy and Catfish Collins is The Godfather at his pinnacle (particularly the Paris Olympia show), but I ain’t one of them. No disrespect to the Collins Brothers, but I’ll put side 2 of this album (heard here) over the entirety of the Olympia show.

@@rickyharris8218 I’ve seen/heard that show. JB’s late 70s period is generally my least favorite era. The version of “Eyesight” from that show is awesome, much more energy than the studio version.

I don't know. They didn't use to release much on reel in this time period. However, a lot of people would copy the album onto reel to reel.
