While I do think this idea is out there, I do think gamefreak would handle it similar to a mix of Primal Groudon and Kyogre and then Stellar Terapagos. Maybe you give Xerneas and Yveltal their mega stones or special items, and upon being sent out once in battle like Groudon and Kyogre with their primal forms they automatically go into their higher form, same with how you don't ever use baby Terapagos you only get the middle form. And then you have the option to use your mega and ascend further like with Stellar Terapagos This too me seems like the most clean way to do it and it wouldn't be too weird with how gamefreak handles the forms imo

This is a very interesting idea. I would not be upset at all if we were able to push Mega Evolution even farther but it probably needs a limit of some sort, like time or HP that ends it since Megas are pushing the limits of the Pokémon physically.

Awakened Xerneas and Yveltal? Since we're only imagining things... I'd give A. Xerneas an ability that would recover 1/4 of its HP every turn and would give A. Yveltal an ability that would mimic the effect of the move "Curse" when used by Ghost Pokémon without any major drawback to the user. I know these would be game breakers so I think they should only be available as bosses, pretty much like Eternamax Eternatus.

I feel like we’ll have something similar to xyz yugioh card. Combination trope. If zygarde was based primarily on snake myths and legends. They can tie in ourosboros. The snake that eats itself because life and death are a “part” of the natural order. What if zygarde is the actual tree and only transforms upon combining with xerneas and Yveltal. After all zygarde cells look like plant cells and flatworms combined and perfect zygard has colors related to xerneas and Yveltal on both sides. Xerneas was the trunk to the tree and Yveltal was the seed.

Never realized how close mega evolution was to Ultimate evolution/aliens in Ben 10... Those have such a cool lore too, sun and moon entries give much closer to the Ben 10 evolutions (In Ben 10 the watch takes their DNA and simulates the ABSOLUTE worst environment and circumstances for millions of years and what that alien DNA switches to in order to cope/deal with these Extreme circumstances... Then the watch takes this new DNA and turns Ben into that form) If they go deeper into this imagine there is like actual lore with a cult wanting to stop mega evolutions 😂 Or wanting to mega evolve everything to see what the future conditions of the world will be or past conditions were that could have caused their DNAs to adapted like this 😅

I like this idea of xerneas and yveltal having the mega evolution energy inside of them its in their DNA and them using that energy to form true mega evolution the form only available to the givers of this energy and in certain situations the outbursts of the energy seek out a few Pokémon from kalos with a mega evolution already and enhance that which would take the place of the guardian Pokémon and give some Pokémon without megas a mega and make them wild alpha Pokémon that once you beat them they no longer have the ability to mega evolve until you find their mega stones

This is a very interesting idea. The only nitpick is that Rayquaza did not have a special organ to Mega Evolve, it's just its stomach. In ORAS's Delta Episode it ate your meteorite that had it's mega stone.
