I always watch every video LVD makes, and been a sub for the longest time.I find him to be the absolute best in terms of mtg content though i don`t comment much. Subtle humor, solid gameplay, consistent uploads, and his calm demeanor are just some of his good traits. His ability to make non-meta decks is also really entertaining, and i`m so happy people have begun to see how good his content is, as mirrored in his sub-count. Keep up the good work LVD, proud to see you get this far and hopefully getting even bigger with time!

This is how you tell a good magic player. LVD says "Let's try to make thess new goblin work" and then looks at the list of all goblins, and puts one together that he then guesses is tier 1. First try. Just hones right in on how important haste will be *bam* insane list. If I tried to make a historic goblin deck from scratch I wouldn't end up with anything close to this. I'd probably think "I've gotta make sure I stay alive to see Muxus live" and fill my 2 and 3 drops with some nonsense I think is good from limited and make some awful trash deck, and then hone in slowly on something better through hours of playtesting. It's a pleasure to learn from you LVD. You are a good player and a good teacher.

This might be the first Mono R deck in a loooooooooong time I - as a control player - actually enjoy watching, playing and even losing against and would probably also love playing myself. A deck, where you don't auto-win by vomiting out your hand and turning all of your permanents sideways each turn for three turns or four turns, if it gets really inconvennient. Might be due to the high synergy of the cards with each other, the various little combos you can pull off, the midrange-y feel to it. Lovely.

People think that as Goblins are red they are an aggro deck. But traditional Goblins are a grind deck that happen to kill you fast if you don't interact and that control the game trough board presence.

It seems like Goblin Trashmaster would be great here. It's another goblin anthem effect from a 3/3 "lord" at 4 mana, and some artifact hate as a bonus. I was surprised it wasn't included. Too slow? Seems like a great hit off of Muxus.

On the beginning of the video I would say you don't need ringleader, but he works flawless with Muxus, Chainwheeler as well. I love goblins since I start playing magic, and they are finally super good on Arena. Probably will be my next deck!

In my experience multiple Soul Warden is impossible for the goblin decks to beat and just one is really hard. Plus mono white has Containment Priest in historic which pretty well hoses the combo wins.

Question: Where did you get the Chandra Mountains? I was under the impression that you can only get them from the Chandra jump start packs, but based on the goblins you didn't have (ie none of the jumpstart rares) it looks like you could have maybe got them somewhere else? I mean, you could have just gotten the Chandra pack randomly, but I also read somewhere that you can get them in the store, but I can't find them in the store anywhere???

Hey Legend, love your videos, been watching since just before Eldraine standard. You are in my top 3 MTG content creators. Just wondering, and sorry if this has been asked before, but why do you never do ranked videos? I personally feel that it would be useful to see you doing ranked content. Case in point, you played against someone who quasiduplicated a Llanowar elves. This shit wouldn't happen in mythic ladder. I know this because I have been in mythic for about 5 seasons now. You're obviously a super skilled player, I'd love to see your brews and elite decision making on the ladder!

@@worsethanjoerogan8061 Yeah, it was mostly tongue in cheek. I've personally had the best results with mono white against goblins. Soul Warden, Bishop of Wings, Heliod, and Resplendent Angel all do great work. It usually comes down to who is on the play (going first is busted) and the opening hand, but I mean, that's pretty much Magic in general.

Well, my friends have banned me from playing monored gobbos in EDH. Krenko has always been great if youre unchecked for a few turns. I'm gonna try to brew up either a boros or gruul gobbo deck next though :)

Were you around for mono blue curoius obsession in Ixalian? It was a nightmare. It allowed for a mono-blue aggro deck to resolve like a few guys like pteramander or tempest djin, and then draw into a lot of counterspells so you basically cannot play the game. Like imagine ravinca release mono red with steamkin and chainwhirler, and it was WORSE because at least when you play mono red you have a chance to resolve spells. Nightmare stuff dude. And it was everywhere. It was probably the #1 most net-decked pickup of all time. Everybody who played it just got free wins of everybody not playing it.

Just because his opponent would have so much card advantage by basically drawing 2 cards per turn for the rest of the game (he cant interact with the Stormtamer with this deck). His opponent would always have counterspells in his hand.

I have been playing with a similar list a lot and the only deck that really bugs me is Kethis-Combo and I am unsure on what to put into the Sideboard for this MU. I am unsure if I should go Boros for Thalia, Rakdos for Legions End and Leyline or stay monored and just ignore the MU. Does anyone has an opinion on this?

I hate cards like Muxus. While a card like Shark Typhoon has SERIOUS problems in its design as well, Muxus usually wins you the game the turn he is played. The game plan shifts from "Win by playing and attacking with goblins" to "Play Muxus and swing with all". It takes importance away from the moment-to-moment gameplay and instead makes you focus ONLY on deckbuilding. Cards such as Goblin Ringleader are much more balanced because they still require you to think about your plays and sequences to play more goblins, while still being a powerful tool to refill your hand. If Muxus put cards into your hand, he would still be a powerful card, and it wouldn't be an instant win. Maybe it's just me, but I like it when decks can have different ways to win instead of having an overpowered card as a finisher.

I have been playing a similar goblin deck for the past few days, and I honestly found that Goblin Ringleader was not pulling its weight. The deck is at its best when you can win by turn 5 or 6, and spending a turn playing a Ringleader has just felt underwhelming. I would much rather run more goblin-based interaction such as Gempalm Incinerator or Ember Hauler.

Ringleader is the reason why Goblins are so hard for control and other grindy archtypes to handle and getting cardadvantage is always good.

Boy do I miss 8whack. I actually played 8whack at a modern tournament last year for poops and chuckles. I actually beat 2 of 3 opponents with it in bo3. I was the ONLY one with it. Most everyone was using the Urza(lands) deck what ever that is called. Dont care. Too many copy cats at tourneys.

I often play control in historic, I have much better win rate vs field than the new gobs. I dont think I won a single match vs muxus yet. Rather play muxus and abuse it while most ppl resident sleep on this mistake. Im starting to rly believe wizards doesnt play test their cards. Its not that difficult to notice the impact on some of these sets rly.
