I have been playing a version of this without emergency powers since the new set. Esper control with 2 smothering tithe and 2 revel main deck and a couple karn and deadeye plunderers. Lots of fun

Nice video! I do think Rampage of the Clans is an extremely valid option though. If you wipe the board and then have a state like 1 Map, 1 Tithe and 5 Treasures to play it EoT, it still wins next turn against anything but Settle the Wreckage. Even a single Emergency Powers with Tithe in play will net you at least 4 tokens EoT, even if you have to sacrifice the treasures to pay for Rampage.

I was working on the same type of deck, but with induced amnesia to force opponent to draw his hand again when you have a smothering tithe out generating enough mana for an overflowing insight into an x damage spell like bainfire. Throw in spell swindle and you will have more treasures than the Vatican.

24:10 you had lethal if you've picked banefire, as soon as your opponent drew a card for his draw step, you would've got 2 more tokens(assumming he wouldn't pay 2 to prevent that). then you'd have 24 treasures, which is 23 damage for the banefire.

Emergency Powers is an instant, so you can cast it in response to a spell you played and its addendum ability will still happen. For instance, you can cast the tutor spell and get the banefire.

@@LegenVD Actually I think what he says is cast Mastermind's acquisition targeting sideboard *with full control on* and then in response cast emergency powers. Mastermind's remains on the stack and Emergency Powers resolves. Since you cast it during main phase, Addendum still goes off, and you get to put a permanent into play, and then Mastermind's Acquisition resolves. This is actually preferable if you have the mana for it, since now you have a lot more information to work with.

I played the Thousand year storm deck and the problem with both of these decks is that when i play 1v1 with my brother i can only surprise him 1 or 2 times..... after that the he knows exactly what to do and not vs these types of dewcks that rely on a few cards. Works fine in ranked best of 1 thou

I feel like Omniscience deserves a spot in the wishboard for those times when you have Mastermind's and (another) Emergency Powers but Mastermind's doesn't win. Cast Mastermind's, get and play Omniscience, mana permitting (hence wishboard not mainboard), then Emergency Powers is free and thus essentially acts like you have one more Smothering Tithe out, beyond just being able to cast your entire new hand for free.

That way you don't risk drawing them while you're still setting up. Revel in Riches is the most maindeckable wincon, as you might get to 10 treasures without the full combo. Acquisition is more flexible, as it can first get Tithe or Powers.
