this deck will not be able to compete in standard. no removal, no way to stand against mono-red. also board is easily swept.

@@sebastianfey56I’ve made it to diamond in ranked with a tweaked edit of this deck. My win rate has been insanely good. Sure, it has no card removal, but it activates so quickly that your opponent just takes a ton of damage or can’t set up their board.

There are so many phrases that could get the "enters" or "mill" treatment Like, saying "once per turn" instead of the whole "for the first time each turn" or whatever. Like, they want us to get mechanics like mutate intuitively, but don't trust us to figure out what it means when something only triggers once each turn

Wording of "this X triggers only once each turn" vs "whenever X happens for the first time each turn" function differently. The latter wording doesn't happen if the card wasn't already on the field to see the triggering event happen for the first time in that particular turn, whereas the former wording will continually look out for X regardless of when the card entered the field, but the ability will only trigger once. They can't have the YGO "do this only once each turn" wording, because triggered abilities happen outside of either player's control, and the game would then be asking you to make a choice about whether or not an ability should be triggering based on whether or not it resolved.

When you said that hasting the house mouse was better than valianting the heartfire mouse, that was definitely wrong. The hasted house mouse does 1 extra damage that turn, but the heartfire mouse getting an extra +1/+1 counter would be better the next turn *and also* do 1 extra damage if it died. So getting that counter is better than getting the haste attack out of the 2/1.

I would reccomend using etalis favor for a boros mice deck. Free extra card in play, along with a valiant/prowess trigger +trample is super useful for only 3 mana

Seedglaive Mentor and Valley Questcaller are strong additions to this deck. I’ll be honest, Cheeky House Mouse, Flowerfoot Swordmaster, and Nettle Guard have been very weak players for me. Also I’ve found War of the Squeak to be a much more reliable instant/sorcery than Might of the Meek.

It's an option, but there's a cost to not casting your instant and sorcery spells. It also doesn't activate Village. With most creatures being so cheap counterspells aren't a huge concern.
