Hi Muzza , Russ from Sth Perth here. enjoyed your video - well delivered & easy to listen to. I have been coming to Kuta for 10 days every 3 months …… have thought about upping that to 2 weeks each month. Not sure about visa requirements or any other things to allow for. Just I would reach out & say hi. Cheers Russ

Let me share a secret on how to avoid "Bali Belly" Wash your hands (or sanitise) before you touch any food or your mouth. Most cases of Bali Belly arise because people handle money before they eat and then don't wash their hands. Local bank notes are the biggest culprit of stomach upsets you will not believe how dirty the money is excuse the pun!. This is a well know fact when traveling to countries that you may have concerns over local hygiene protocols.

You come across as being a well seasoned and savvy tourist that has visited Bali. I have a question that I hope you can and will answer. What is your honest opinion of Bali's future in the long term if or when mass tourism returns to pre Covid conditions? Looking forward to your reply. Cheers.

G'day Murray. Thanks to your video, I'll be heading to the Legian Food Court when I arrive in Bali on June 11th. Love the challenge of getting through a spicy Tom Yum, no matter which South-East Asian country I'm in. Have missed Bali immensely since my last visit in June 2019. This time I'll base myself in the Kartika Plaza area, which I believe is a vastly underrated location. James Plunkett (Holbrook, NSW)

@@the90sguy I visited Legian Food Court last week - dined at the Star Duck Danoelz (it's the fourth-last warung on the left). Had a spicy Tom Yam Soup as I said I would. It got hotter the more I consumed, as some of the spicy ingredients sink to the bottom. Well worth a trip out there.

To be fair from a totally selfish prospective the last couple of years have been great, no traffic 😊. I do understand the locals have done it hard, but it must be remembered expats living in Bali have continued to support the locals either by employing maids and or drivers or buying products from the local market.

For spicy food, always remember for bringing some pack of fresh milk with you. It will help you with unpleasant side effect of the spicy food. Drink the fresh milk together while you are eating the spicy food.

my point was at a market that has electricity, running water and proper facilities, you have a much better chance of avoiding getting bad food. the street vendors have no refrigeration, no handwashing facilities, and have food left on the open from daybreak to evening... Having said that, I have eaten at both many times and got Bali Belly twice from MacDonalds.... go figure
